I am – you want to expand on it? What you mean by it?
It doesnt, Im sure they realized it and its why they brought Metzen back. Whether they will actually listen? Guess we will see how it plays out at Blizzcon and with the game patches
For the answers you seek you will need to Journey to Oribos and visit the Halls of Curiosities. But fear not! If you have additional questions you can always ask Groomer Ta’visage.
-inb4 drama about the npc name.
I am going to assume then your unwillingness to disclose the reasons are discriminatory in nature.
Excuse me???
Ma’am I have agency over my mind and body. How dare you make assumptions based on your own biases.
You having the feeling you have control over your thoughts and actions nothing to do with it. If they were not deemed to be discriminatory then you’d elaborate.
“I’ll rip the secrets from your flesh!”
They need to wipe the slate clean and release a sequel. I sometimes daydream of a WoW2 that implemented all of the cool systems from Archeage and was set just before the Arthas timeline.
How awesome would it be if when you chose undead, you start off and level as a lordearon human in Arthas’s army, following the story in detail, and eventually turn when you get to a high level, with Arthas as the head of the undead faction. I’m sure they could work in some kind of infinite dragonflight thread to retcon and revisit the story in a new direction for all of the major races.
The warcraft franchise needs a large innovation. There is so much potential but the current leadership just doesn’t have it.
It’s not a surprise that both the warcraft storyline, and the lord of the rings storyline with the rings of power, have both been set upon by activists looking to revise and correct the themes and underpinnings they find problematic.
The story of Orcs vs Humans has a racial/civilizational element to it that is wholly heretical in the modern age.
For me the clearest example of the modern teams hatred of warcraft was the treatment of Arthas. “Arthas did nothing wrong” being a popular meme probably triggered too many people and they decided to throw him in the trash, despite him being the most iconic and tragic character in the lores history. His character deserved closure and a fair judgment by the arbiter.
I agree that Warcraft really lost a lot of what made it cool rn.
I will also say that continuity bs has kind of always been an issue. Metzen literally had to make an entire blue post apologizing for retconning Eredar lore to make the Draenei, and explaining how they and their tech would work because it was such a massive leap for the setting to suddenly have. https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Metzen_on_lore
Going by the numbers the game was at it’s peak in Wrath, not vanilla.
And besides that I hate to break it to you but Vanilla (once you surgically remove the rose tinted goggles from your head) wasn’t that good; the game was unnecisarily cumbersome, obtuse and grindy in ways that were designed to drag out gameplay longer and longer (and thus make more and more money).
And yet the vanilla subscriber base doubled during its time, and so many people were leaving retail to play private classic servers blizzard was forced to re-release it. Just saying.
Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.
Doesn’t change the fact that Classic has aged like milk.
For you, it’s still getting played more than retail.
Are we talking about the actual classic servers or the illegal private ones?
Yes.

So let me break this down for you why this is an ill informed position you’re holding:
- The legitimate servers hosted by blizzard have numbers we can’t really articulate on because Blizzard hasn’t released user counts in years.
- The illegal ones are a moot point.
I’ll rephrase my comment
For you. There is a significant number of players worldwide that prefer vanilla to retail.
To which I would respond with there are a signifigant number of players worldwide that think Vanilla was better as a memory then as an actual product.
