It’s very strange how many people I’ve seen come to threads about this topic just to show off how lacking of basic empathy and generally horrible they are.
Also strange how a 2 year state investigation is brushed off with “BUT WHAT IF EVERYBODY IS LYING THO??”
I assume you were kidding, but BFA had a lot more stuff than SL. Not great stuff, but stuff. March 2019 would have been when this started (there abouts) and that was after the last patch of BFA iirc.
Anyone who got a 6-month sub for the Bird Mount (or at least at that time) would have paid for an active account until January - prior to this coming out.
Yeah people who actually quit just walk away, theh don’t come to the forums and say they quit. Literally every person that has told me they “quit” has come back again. People who actually quit just log off one day and you never see them again.
Kinda low to say that someone is following a culture of disbelieving victims.
People do in fact lie, people do in fact lie a lot.
It happens more often than any of us would like it to.
It is why we have due process, it is why we have innocent until proven guilty.
It wouldn’t change my view on it, in the slightest, nor should it change someone else’s. A few people lying doesn’t invalidate the many others who have since come forward.
I mean, we’re not talking one or two people here. We’re talking hundreds of employees that have either substantiated the allegations or reaffirmed them by discussing their own experiences while working at Blizzard. We have video evidence (not anything that realigns itself as any of the allegations in the lawsuit, but something that would lend credence to them) of a group of high-ranking male developers laughing at a girl for asking why their female characters looked like they belong in a Victoria’s Secret catalogue.
The lawsuit likely has evidence to corroborate these allegations, otherwise it wouldn’t have been taken to court to begin with. We probably won’t ever see that evidence, though, as many court proceedings are taken behind closed doors away from public view. That said, anyone who suddenly flips because of someone lying never believed it to begin with, nor did they want to. They want an excuse to not believe it, and will jump at any chance to justify doing so.
Sadly I purchased a 6 month sub about 2 weeks before this came out Even then, I think I may still play to show my support for all of the other employees coming forward. Not everyone can be evil at Blizzard.
I’ve actually found it somewhat amusing, in a sad way, that almost every Goblin that has talked about this topic has come in swinging either defending Blizzard or attacking people who are upset at Blizzard…
Which I feel is exactly what Goblins would do if they were defending their Cartel. It just seems like a goblin thing to do. Like the coffin dance meme (which is actually canon lore, they coffin dance during their funerals).
Have you read Blizzard’s very public press release on the issue?
They denied things, sure, as you would want to do when being called out for absolutely atrocious things; however, one thing they also did do is say that they’ve ‘changed’ over the past few years. You know, during the course of the investigation.
So, at BEST, even if you want to believe that none of these horrible things can happen there, they have admitted, in writing, that some of it did occur.
what i was actually getting to - if you decide to let me - is that actors acting alone out of personal motivation and systemic company-wide practices are not the same thing.
blanket punishments and group executions without having all the facts are hardly ‘justice’.
