and why are you upset about that?
I will continue to stand by the victims and support the employees who are pushing for change and saying that this is unacceptable.
I mean, here’s what I think is going to happen.
Activision-Blizzard will settle for an undisclosed sum, because they don’t want this to be dragged out and for the state to get even more access to their company, which could enable them to find more damaging skeletons in the closet. Alex Afrasiabi will, I expect, be criminally charged for his conduct and be forced to face court for what he did but everyone else, or at least those that remain, who were involved will be quietly shown the door. They’ll be given an ‘early retirement severance’ and be forced to sign an NDA forbidding them from talking about the case, which will also likely have a non-compete clause in it so they can’t immediately create their own studio to compete with Blizzard.
That’s exactly what happened with Ubisoft and Riot Games, which has set a form of precedent, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Activision-Blizzard follows suit.
A young woman was driven to suicide by sexual abuse and Blizzard brushed it under the rug. The company deserves what is coming to them and the employees deserve better than Blizzard. Piss off.
No, you are so cringe.
Only an obsessed, addicted person would stop playing an entire genre because of one thing shutting down.
I could also make the reverse argument, that only an obsessed, addicted person would continue hunting for the same fix, but eh. The former is more fitting in this case.
MMORPGs are video games, not a job. May as well go try another one.
I think evidence is important for convictions. I think empathy is important for victims. You seem to be assuming that they are lying. May I ask why?
You implied earlier that you believe it is bad that human beings are mad about this. Why is that bad as well? Shouldn’t we be angry that this happened?
Why are you?
That guy has only been playing since 2017. You and me are vanilla people, he doesn’t understand.
Remaking a new wow mmo is a terrible idea. Half the reason people still play retail is because they want to hold on to everything they have collected over the years.
Tossing all that out without fixing the real issues with the game won’t work. Specially when it will take years to build a new mmo. Wow can barely survive small content droughts it can’t survive 3 years. We can’t trust blizzard not to screw up wow 2 anyway.
The only way forward is to apologize, clean house ASAP, and bring in people with a passion for wow to replace the bad. Then bust butt to make as much content as possible for players. Blizzard has to do what No Man’s Sky did.
I’ll do whatever I want you cringe nerd. Youre like 15 years old, stop raging no one wants to play MMOs anymore.
they’re entitled to their opinion.
i’m allowed to be wrong.
No worries, I am actually European, not American.
12 years old. Take it or leave it.
You don’t know any of that. you only one what one side of the argument has so far presented, If you are going to refuse to hear the defenses statement and then wait for the ruling, YOU are the horrible human being. Piss off.
Someone isn’t a victim IF THEY LIED.
Do you know that they lied?
What would their defense of passing around a picture of a woman’s genitalia be?
You you know that they are not?
FFS No, that’s why it’s not up to neither YOU nor ME to make any decision on that matter.
Nobody knows if that has actually happened yet because qwe haven’t gotten to hear the defenses statement on that matter.
maybe because there’s other things that’ll never be the same? but to call someone addicted? Really? That’s aa pretty low. I thought an addicted player would just simply move onto the same thing in hopes of emulating the same thing he got in the last? But tbh, I’m not interested in LoL, New World or Asian SecondLife that is FF14. IF they don’t interest me, then the only solution is move on from the genre
Besides, I got Division 2, Monster Hunter and Stellaris to fill my gaming needs
I think that you are following a culture of automatically disbelieving victims. I think evidence is important for convictions, sure. And I also don’t believe in cancel culture.
But.
I do believe that there is a semblance of truth to these allegations and until more evidence comes out, can we not, at the very least, show some human empathy?
Seems like a weird thing to lie about.
I mean, I have heard about people lying about a lot of stuff.
Domestic abuse, even going as far as to hit themselves with a hammer to make it seem right. Three girls accusing a high school boy of sexual abuse simply because they did not like him.
Passing around a picture of ones genitalia, seems like such a weird thing to lie about.
