WoW Development Stalled

Worse. At least WoD had garrisons.

No you are just willing to belive anyone that fits your narrative rather than wait for wvidence. That makes you horrible

This is the honest truth but if WoW does die I’m done with all MMORPGs. This is the bedrock of my enjoyment of them. I go play them a bit then come home. I couldn’t stand to have any of them as MY game. I seriously would just remove them all.

Maybe go play some Ubisoft games instead ;p

You’re not waiting for evidence either, you’re just throwing out claims that it was benign and nothing bad probably happened.

That’s what makes your hypocrisy so laughable. You can’t even follow your own advice.

Your story isn’t anything that’s uncommon. That’s why I prefaced what I said with acknowledging cancel culture does exist.

In this case? I’m sorry, we already know some of what happened, and we’re going to find out a LOT more.

People, including women, do lie. The question here is who lied, and signs are definitely not pointing towards it being the employees claiming they were harassed.

At least I’m not claiming to know exactly what happened and am waiting to see. You’ve already formed your judgement.

Good let the shareholders bleed! When they are they are losing money this will force blizzard to make changes to leadership roles and hopefully get rib of Ion and his lackeys

8.2 will be stalled, no surprise there. Expect 8 months or more again.

True that. I often think about all the people who worked at Vivendi who were fired in the name of “diversity”, and who like every other person in the world relied on that income to survive. No one shed any tears for those folks.

It’s almost like people should be hired based off their actual skills and the abilities they possess. If a man, so be it. If a woman, so be it. Pay both the same. It’s a given.

The real problem I have? That’s always how it was in the Vivendi era. People were judged based on the workloads they took and completed. They were rewarded in kind with greater responsibilities if they showed themselves capable of more.

Thus I have concern that some of these people may be using this suit as a means to enrich themselves, and remove the 40 something year old male workers who are still in their prime; as they see them as obstacles due to their politics or world view being different.

How many times on Twitter have we seen “You support X” resulting in a campaign to get someone fired, or a business destroyed? Way too often. Were I Blizzard I’d shut discussion on this matter down completely on the forums, let the chips fall where they will and internally address any real cases the State is alleging.

Don’t forget. It is very easy for a 20 something year old girl to say “He did X to me” and then for her to smile privately ala Sylvanas, as she’s celebrated by the internet for being “brave”, even as she’s escorted 'as per her master plan, into his office and given the promotion she “totally deserved” '.

The guy on the other hand could say till the end of time that he was innocent, and yet innocent or not you’d have a masses of feral maenads, followed by their legions of loyal simps who would attack him, like a pack of rabid animals.

Saying “I believe her” instead of “I believe what the facts and evidence say” simply ensures it will happen again at some point. Until we address that inequality, and have solid penalties in place for people who lie for financial or employment gains; you will NEVER see true equality in the workplace. Because it makes businesses think twice about who they hire and sometimes vet them for “if they fit their culture”. Sorry but it’s a fact.

For all the rest, there is going to come a point where someone is going to have to be the adult in the room and tell people “Yes, I get your angry but we are selling a product here and the customers are paying a monthly sub for it. So yeah. Report in tomorrow, 8am. Also we have these deadlines. I need your lead to speak to me about how we will meet them.”

And if they don’t or won’t, you fire them and hire someone else. Brutal, but also necessary. Because the work ethic of “I am too emotionally compromised to work, but you better pay me still” is basically a con.

Oh I get giving people a week or two to cool off, but riding out the rest of the year with no tangible work while the employees ‘wait’? No. Sorry that’s their job. If they won’t do it, others need to be brought in and paid the salary to do it.

The only judgement ive formed is that the mob is a horrible beast and if you are jumping into the mob you are horrible

I don’t know why but you made me think of this moment from the lorax lol

We need higher ups heads to roll first. That’s the problem.

The leaders who allowed this to fester in the first place need to go, or they’ll hire more drudges to suffer and continue the cycle of misery.

If I was a youtuber or a streamer I might actually have sung this.

I should become a youtuber.

I agree. However, we need to consider one critical thing. Do you want to go Robespierre mode and guillotine ALL leaders? Or the ones who knew about this and were complicit? I want to see the latter. But to do that, I need facts and evidence. We won’t get those until the actual discovery process and trial.

But I do completely and firmly believe that ‘anyone’ who knew about this and enabled it needs to be terminated. Any former employees? They need to be deposed and that info revealed also. But in the same vein, I don’t want to see innocent people punished for this.

I am not adverse to the sword of justice being employed to behead the Hydra, but I want to make damned sure that the ‘heads that roll’ are truly cut off and do not grow back in an even worse fashion. I want the matter to end and for all people, I want both men and women to feel safe in this company. That’s how Blizzard makes this right for me.

For women? I want them to not be harassed or discriminated against. They deserve that because they are our sisters, daughters, and friends. For men? I don’t want them to have to constantly look over their shoulder in fear of being falsely accused. They are our sons, brothers, and friends. You need to have both, or you can have neither because each feeds into the other.

I want any complicit man to go. That includes any male leader who knew AND had the power to stop it.

This doesn’t mean the good guys who’s own jobs were on the line if they tried whistleblowing. The inability to do that was actually brought up in the document.

Diversity is an issue for everyone because as you can see, that “first they came for X, and I didn’t speak up because I’m not X” stuff is true. Men who weren’t in the Frat Boy’s Club were also on the :poop: list. Targeted underlings said so.

Not surprised at all.

Probably will get 10.0 with Azeroth Reborn

Honestly, they should have blown the whistle.

This has got to be the biggest clusterF ever. ActiBlizz needs to clean house with management and bring in all new creative people and see if they can salvage the game. Because right now it’s circling the drain.

It’s easy to say that from the other side but…

And for the record I’m a POC female and a survivor, obviously not of Blizz, but I come from a place of absolute frothing f$&@ing hatred for perpetrators, so this scandal hits very close to home…

Remember that Blizz also paid these people peanuts. Many had families. Many were paycheck to paycheck. Cali is insanely expensive to live in. They’d be putting their own butts on the line for essentially nothing.

Very true I hadn’t thought about it that way.

If your not invested in story, your character, and the world around you and just the competitive parts you have no problem leaving for another competitive game.

It’s okay, we’ll get another 6 month store mount to hold everyone over until that 2022 9.2 launch.
