Also came to the forum to see if there was a way to still access the legion content in the app. It’s going to take so long to complete the 5 missions in the class hall quest lines now :(

Necro'd, there's such a lack of foresight I wonder if they remember to wash their hands after potty. If you're to make us grind dead content to access the arguably biggest selling point of this "expansion" at least keep the lights on. I'm talking about this, lfr and lfd accessibility for legion.

+1 currently going through legion on an alt and would like to be able to look at app to see when legion invasions are going on and I'm not near a computer so I know how much time I have to get back on before its gone

Yeah, I was hoping they would of kept past Legion stuff on there. Damn.

It's almost like tying BfA Allied races to Legion and forcing new and returning players to grind outdated content was a terrible idea. I guess I kind of get that they wouldn't want to support previous expacs with their app, but their current expansion's selling point of Allied races require it.

The good news (such as it is) is that Blizz acknowledges this is an issue.

Below is a list of known issues for the updated 2.0 WoW Companion App. I will update it if more issues are discovered:

General
  • The game will reconnect require a reconnect if you switch focus off the app.
  • Android: If English is one of your input languages, the app may default to English regardless of phone language.
  • Legion content is currently no available through the mobile app.
If it's on a list, they can't hide from it (unless they remove it from the list). It's just a question of when and how they choose to address it.

Add legion back! This was not a cool movement at all...

In fact they could easily do in the same app, a way for you to see draenor, legion and BFA contentes, i don't know why they don't. But remove Legion already just like "No one has alt characters and this is not going to be missed at all, and for no good reason replacing everything with BFA things." instead of creating 2 diferent apps, or two diferent sections in the same app was such a dumb non-sense movement.

Yes please restore Legion functionality. I'm already stuck at the stupid Legion mission bottleneck in my class quests. Don't force me into playing your mobile game system AND then remove mobile functionality.

What's going on over there in Irvine. It's amateur month this expansion...

Who makes tgese idiotic decisions at Blizz to remove legion WQ and Mission access from the app even thou the damn allied races are locked to old content and missions can help grind the rep a bit faster.

Dumbest god damn devs lately.

FWIW, I haven’t upgraded the companion app on my iPad to BFA and am still able to do Legion missions but of course can’t do BfA missons.

And that would have been the way to do it, but a lot of folks set their mobile devices to automatically upgrade everything at the app store. That's a choice (usually the default, actually) you don't often regret, except for cases like this.

If Legion can't be "added back" into the current Mobile app, then please just release a new companion app for Legion content only.

I've speculated they could do that, probably very easily from a technical perspective (dig out the old source code, recompile, package up as a new app, post in stores). But....
And the Auction House..??
They deep-sixed the auction house app specifically to reduce the number of apps they need to support. So that argues pretty persuasively against (A) adding a Legion-specific app, or (B) adding an AH app.

I don't trust the mobile devs' freedom to schedule and budget relatively big development like that when they can't even release meaningful fixes to the current app.

Truth -- juggling bandwidth is always an issue.

Just speaking for myself, but the map in the mobile apps have added zero value for me. Maybe they look pretty and are properly responsive, but I'd be fine turfing it for other functional features for my character(s).

Again, just me.

Is Legion functionality ever coming back? It's November now, and still no word from Blizzard? At least let us know if you even ever consider putting that back in. It's a PITA to level alts without the Legion Companion app.

Yes, please! At the very least let us know the basic plan for WoW apps. I am a lot more connected to the game and spend more time playing when I can also access content when I’m mobile, since my computer time is limited. I’d like to spend my computer time on World Quests and new content in BfA, not going to Argus to grind rep I didn’t get done in Legion. I want to let my phone do that!

Okay, up until yesterday I had not updated the app and was still using the legion version. I was doing my update of various apps on my tablet which I do every 3-4 months and lo and behold I get this crap. There was a brief hour window or so where I had both versions of the app on my menu before the BFA version deleted or fully replaced the legion version.

Oh boy was I pissed when I later realized it completely replaced my legion app. There is little to no point in even choosing BFA quests/app at this point as the rewards are minimal and the quests few at this point. Where as in legion we get rep tokens for paragon satchels, bloods for old materials, old pet charms, raid kill quests sometimes , quest timers, leveling up old followers and are able to complete the various class quest lines that require repeated mission hall quests.

You guys really need to make the BFA version a seperate app or have a toggle. You guys introduced so much content in legion that dedicated collectors still have yet to collect everything and experience the full expac, especially among all the classes of alts whose content you created.

THANKFULLY!!! I was able to delete the app, and download the oldest version of the legion app off another site and install it on my tablet, I scanned it for viruses on my computer and then moved it over to my tablet. I am able to log in as normal and it appears to be okay, I also run with an authenticator and don’t really do any business on the tablet so on the off chance there was a virus hopefully I will be fine. I recommend this as an option to the rest of you.

Honestly the follower/classhall aspect was gutted or not developed in BFA to such a degree that it is an easy choice as to which version to have enabled. What are my rewards in BFA? A little azerite, a minimal amount of gold, a small amount of capped out rep (might be worth it if paragon rewards become a thing) and some stat runes.

I hope you guys fix this for all of us and people that come into playing this game. Legion was a great expansion with a lot of content for all classes that lasted throughout the entire expansion blizzard, don’t throw it under the bus. I also hope your “solution” isn’t to just disable older versions and keep us from logging into the legion version of the app, but knowing you guys, I wouldn’t be surprised.
