WoW Classic Version 1.13.7 PTR is Now Available

It exists so that you can use melee attacks without having to worry about being in or out of range randomly due to fluctuations in latency.

It is also used for casters with their max range.

The game would be generally more frustrating to play if the leeway weren’t there.

Druids are really hurt by batching. Escaping and then finding out a second later your actually rooted again is a pain.

the leniency it gives players and mobs with their melee range is ridiculous. it needs to at least be toned down.

No, it’s even better, can’t wait for them to remove this horrific 400ms batch window.

Yup, a well deserved nerf.

It’s a large buff for Rogues not a nerf lol

Rogue w/ improved gouge talent now gets free guaranteed restealth every time they press gouge, because you don’t have time to put an instant spell on the batch as you are coming out of gouge lol

The well meaning but ignorant dummies who ask for these types of changes have never fully thought it through and don’t understand the consequences >_<

I completely understand the consequences. The consequences are the game will play significantly better and be much more enjoyable in 99% of cases.

Oh the horror.

You’re asking to make an already very easy game even easier lol

The change would not only buff the already dominant classes in PvP, it also lowers the skillcap of most classes in PvP, AND it is a nerf to every single PvE encounter

All because you are too lazy to take responsibility for reacting too late, you want the game to give you more time to react by making spell processing more frequent in a way that it never was in the first 10 years of WoW expansions.

Shame on you

Based on the patch notes this is incorrect.

Range is only increased on phase 1 and only when boss is being tanked on the platform.

If he is tanked away from platform and during phase 2, range is and still remains the same.

Why don’t we increase the batch time to 4000ms? It’s nothing to do with wanting the game to be “easier.” It has everything to do with WANTING THE GAME TO PLAY BETTER. I don’t like lag, I don’t like batching because batching makes the game unresponsive.

You just can’t comprehend that, can you?

He can’t, he genuinely thinks that abusing batching for pvp rogue makes him the master of the game.

Because it was 400ms in vanilla, TBC, wotlk, cata, and mop

Batching isn’t lag. It’s not a delay in client-server communication. It’s the pace at which the server resolves events.

Learn what batching even is before you share your bad & uninformed opinion, plz kthx

Don’t worry though buddy, Spell Batching isn’t the reason that is stuck on 4hm

I can join any guild that clears Four Horsemen and beyond, you can’t get your precious batching back.

I didn’t say batching was lag. I equated batching to lag because that’s essentially what it feels like:

Yeah that explanation you linked was posted by Chadd Nervig during WoD development so if you love 1-10ms spell processing so much you should just go play that action RPG called retail World of Warcraft

Nah, I’ll play Classic which is going to get that action RPG 10ms batching. Woo!

Ya let’s try to turn classic into an action RPG like retail WoW great thinking

Clown

Nope one of the statements made during development of classic was that we would be getting server side improvements because of the modern architecture. Removing batching is one of those.

Then why was batching intentionally re-implemented in the first place during classic development?

It would have been simplier to keep the servers using the same 1-10ms batch, since the server is already based on the retail server

Instead they made extra effort to restore the faithful and original batching behavior

It was added very late in beta because a handful of people like you tried to pretend it had anything to do with skill.

Virtually everyone who was actually in beta before and after it was added hated it. And thankfully blizzard is finally getting rid of it again.

So Neilyo vanishing blinds, which there are videos of him doing with extreme consistency from the TBC era, is not skill? lol…
