WoW Classic Stress Test Date

The Free Days are for you to play BfA. They’re not a gift for any sort of failure on Blizzard’s part. Treating it with venom because their test date slipped is pretty arrogant since those 3 free days were not gifted for a stress test.

Regardless, we haven’t been told if we ever need a sub for the final test. They want it to be big, and they’re only going to get that if they remove the restriction. You’ll have a fair bit of egg if you accuse them of “shady practices” because the free days you were given to play BfA aren’t usable for Classic, and then it turns out you don’t even need them.

Blizzard is a company in the business of making money. People need to be paid for all the work they’re doing on Classic.

You make it sound like they’re a private server trying to profit off the hard work of someone else. They are the producers of the game you are desperate to play. Many of the people on the Classic team are the original developers.

This is pretty naive of you. Three free days are three free days. If you think for a second that they don’t want the stress test to land at the same time free sub days can be used, you’re kidding yourself. All you have to do is check their history, everything is set up for maximum $ drain for the fans.

There’s a difference between being a business who of course produces a product for money and tactics that take advantage of people. Anywho, good luck with the blinders.

Did the email telling you about your 3 free days say “Here, play WoW, do whatever!” or did they say “8.2 is here, use this game time to experience the new content!”

It’s pretty naive to be upset that they would protect their investment. Even so, that isn’t why the test slipped. As mentioned above, there’s been quite a few infrastructure decisions in the last week that changed and now they have to reorganize to account for that in their world wide launch stress test. That takes time and they need to slip the test to get it done.

I believe the test last for three days or the weekend.

Calendar says one day. We don’t even know if the new date will be a Thursday or not.

Writing your name down to check your posts on launch day… :stuck_out_tongue: You sir are popcorn and TIVO worthy…

And that didn’t clue you in to the fact you shouldn’t take time off for a stress test?

But at least they don’t lose the subs completely by people using their free 3 days to participate.

I dunno… seems to me they should extend the date people can use the free 3 days if subs doesn’t matter…

Blizzard is not giving people 3 days to play Classic. There is no reason that the 3 days are unusable for their purpose, 8.2 content. If it weren’t for the 8.2 content, no three day passes would have been sent out.

For the upcoming test, either subs won’t matter, in which case you get to play, or subs do matter, in which case the 3 day passes were never designed for that.

That’s the point. You get 3 days playtime on your account. Classic beta and stress test requires an active account (i.e. sub time) If they had left the stress test to when it was scheduled… those people could have used it then.

Likely this is just a mere coincidence… but man it sure does line up really, really well.

Meh. I don’t care. 40 days until Classic launches.

This is the most useful thing you’ve said about it yet.

Oh now… don’t be that way. I was just beginning to like you.

Ah read somewhere that it would be a three day extensive stress test but like you’ve been saying things are constatntly changing so we don’t really know what to think. 15 lvl cap which I would think would take close to a whole day at least for most players.

We asked for that when it was changed to a Thursday. Blizzard isn’t going to make its team work over the weekend unless its urgent.

I[t] was clear in the announcement email: The 3 day pass can not be use to access BFA content if you haven’t purchased the expansion.

No one said they were intelligent, OR logical. If it will PISS off players, count on Blizzard to DO it.

Why did you in the first place? Is it really that important? If so, you need to evaluate your priorities.

Maybe to some. Everyone is fascinated with the Classic in their own way. In the end, I’ll keep myself busy with something else on my days off next week. I’m working my last night shift in ER tonight and surviving so far, haha.
I just hope the actual Classic launch date isn’t messed around with.
