it’s happening to most users. it’s too new of an issue for google to really pick up on it

Right. Hence the point of the test. I would imagine most of the settings were throttled back to minimums to see where the breaking points were. No matter how far technology goes it is always important to test things. This happens daily in every network that is moving or upgrading for any implementation of any kind.

Well I never got in but hopefully the login attempts were helpful to someone lol.
Maybe the real stress test was the friends we made along the way.

I hope you guys got the numbers you needed…and will follow up on it…spending three hours of my life typing my user/password into a little box on loop was far from enjoyable. Have yet to actually play the test yet, and knowing that you are no longer monitoring anything as well as having the whole thing vanish in less than a day is…disheartening, to say the least.
It would be one thing if we all had proper beta access, but we don’t. For many (possibly most) of us here, this was our one shot to participate in the beta, our one shot at getting a taste of classic (legally) before launch. But we aren’t full beta testers. We had 24hr access to a stress test that only let a fraction of a fraction of players actually participate beyond authentication server testing.
Its a bitter feeling, truth be told. Very bitter.

and they’re clamping down on beta invites because they “have enough” when a lot of people (not streamers) on beta are saying the server population is way too low to test anything in the gen pop… can’t get groups for dungeons or elite quests, etc.
A lot less people would volunteer and Blizzard might not get the best data collection. They need to simulate people pounding the servers trying to log in. You thought you would get in and receive carrot so you kept trying which was exactly what they needed tested.
It’s all for the best possible launch 3 months from now, so it is for you and the game even if you are not clue’d in for success reasons.
After 2 1/2 hours of being blocked at the character creation screen, went away and did something else for a half hour. Now servers are down. /facepalm. Really hope Blizzard got the info they needed and they are able to prevent this on release day.

I was not even able to create my character
Been trying to get in since 7PM EST , i was looking at some twitch streamers . i did’nt miss much but i still wish i was able to get in. At least we helped stressing the server , let hope the others stress test will get some improvement to ensure a smooth lauch in august .
They should have stressed tested login with bots. Also are you telling me retail wow can not handle the amount of logins that Classic brought? If so that is huge. Retail is so done lol. This was also stress test and not actual numbers of people wanting to play. I am 100% sure they have under estimated the whole situation. I just hope they post some numbers and are more open about what they are trying to do. No matter what they do the fan base is here, I would hope that they would act like old blizzard vs new screw you blizzard. Not sure I will be able to stress test the next time. You better email a million new people to take the bait.

was stuck at char creation again and again accept timed out. after a bit some strange reason i got in. but it was insanity in sw newb zone and then the gms had ragnaros, onyxia etc there to make it even worse. I died 2 times trying to cast … one cast takes about 40 seconds to 60… then by that time the mob hits you dead. so 2 deaths then couldnt rez cuz of the gms playing ragnaros what not… oh well i must be grateful i got in for 20 min … woo weee
Ok, Blizzard. The Stress Test is over now. Can we play tonight or
no? I mean, sure we completely bombarded your servers. testing them to make sure that any bugs came out and able to be fixed. WE WERE PROMISED WE COULD PLAY TO LEVEL FIVE. Until Thursday. Well, Its getting later and later. And no one can get past anything that wasn’t going on in the stress test. So, will we be able to play tomorrow? longer? maybe until Friday.

I got in after the stress test was already over, after having tried for over 2 hours of spamming login. Played for about 30min and they restarted the server, now I’m back to not being able to get in again. Oh well, it did seem like the streamers already in beta didn’t have much trouble getting in though.
