I feel your pain after 2hrs or trying to get in i finally get stuck on the create character and keep being timed out

The “locked” doesn’t mean anything, it’ll just throw you in a queue, get you to character creation, and then tell you creation timed out.

Realm now shows ‘medium’ instead of locked. same thing at char creation, though.

3 hours straight of trying to login and now 45 mins straight of Character Creation Time out… I hope you got your numbers you needed blizz…

Then…don’t watch the steamers and play at a later time when they’re offline on the Stress test?

once one gets the character creation time out is there any point trying again or i have to close and open the game ?

I can understand the frustration of everyone that didn’t actually get into the world today but keep in mind that this was a “Stress Test” and even though they didn’t come out and state it this was kinda the point of the test. Thousands of people trying to log in over and over again pushing the servers and seeing how thing held up. I would imagine this is mostly in an attempt to make sure the launch day goes well. I too didn’t get into the world but I can’t wait for the launch and I’ll do every kind of stress test or other slow monotonous test to make sure it goes well. Besides, if I wasn’t okay with doing monotonous tasks for big pay offs I wouldn’t be interested in playing classic in the first place Hope to see you all at the next one.

I am very upset with this. Why give out invites where we are not even able to test out the servers. I am watching the streams on this and I am seeing lots of fun stuff people are doing and I am not able to be part of this. I have wasted 3 hours waiting to get in.

Loggin in isn’t particular new technology. We’re doing it every day for years, decades even. It shouldn’t need to be tested again.

On the other hand… Obviously something did go wrong. Must be some kind of “Layer not found error”

I had all the same problems but I got in about 20 minutes ago. I made a toon and leveled to 3. I was in the gnome starting zone and they had Hogger level 11 elites at all the quest givers killing everyone.

Okay, so I logged on about an hour ago and I was excited to start playing classic wow and create my new warrior character. It took a few minutes to log in since I had to wait in the queue, (I know everyone had to wait as well) then I was finally logged into the stress test service yay! Now it was time to create my new character, after spending a few minutes creating it and trying to come up with a new name, I was ready to being my adventure in classic.

I clicked accept and waiting a minute or so then I received a pop saying “Character Creation Timed Out” I was like okay maybe everyone is creating characters right now so let me try it again. After an hour trying to create my character I keep receiving the same message, over and over again. I googled the problem and it seems like only myself and may two other players are experiencing the same issue. So at this point I am not sure if it’s something on my account or is this a bug that blizzard is working on.

Would have been nice to feel like my testing time was spent on something more than the login process. I figure that would be like the easiest thing for them to simulate themselves.

But hey, its their test.

I finally got in for all of 4 minutes before the server went off-line! Hope I was a good tester!
