WoW Classic Season of Mastery Design Intentions and Details

I partially agree with you. It will lead to people guild hoping, poaching, etc. I just don’t think it’s something that needs to be addressed.

I’m also not saying I’m right and you’re wrong. Not trying to give you the usual forum d-baggery, and I think you have a valid point of view. I just think that we want different things out of the game and it’s all really just based on our personal wants.

Unless Blizz overtunes the encounters I think any competent raid will be able to down content. Even the gear check bosses like Patchwerk. It sounds like the changes will block a lot of players out of high end raid content, but I personally feel it’s a good thing to have some exclusivity in the hardest raids. I know it’s a popular position to say that everyone should be able to see and clear all content, but I disagree with that. Anyone is welcome to call me a sweatlord for it.

I don’t think Blizzard needs to design their game to curtail guild hoping and poaching. I don’t condone it, but it’s a player issue. It’ll happen with some players, but a good portion of the playerbase isn’t like that. Anyways, drama is the spice of life.

Not every caster needs a tear. Not every physical DPS needs a DFT. Not every warrior tank needs a TF. I think there’s enough time in the season for people to get enough gear to still clear content.

I’m personally hoping that SoM will be hard. The old meta was boring. Bad guilds were clearing Naxx badly while leaning on WB’s to get them through. Speed runners were trivializing naxx by relying on WB’s, LIP’s, and engineering. That was kind of fun for a bit, but it also got old quickly.

Why do lips and engineering exist if players shouldn’t use them in raids?

I think they should be used in raids, I don’t have any problem with it. In fact I think it adds a fun dimension to gameplay.

But in SoM the raid leader might need to think twice on certain pulls since everything might not be getting instantly melted by 10 fully buffed fury warriors lol. The mobs might last past the taunt duration and the DPS will have several thousand less health.

Not only Organes, a lot of people continue to farm MC specifically for Ragnaros drops, band of accura, onslaught girdle, the odd strikers mark, crown of destruction, bone reavers edge.

I remember that!!! Do you know of any others? Obviously with increased health pools fights will need to be cleaner (los lucifron curses etc as opposed to just nuking through)… just wondering how big the adjustments will be.

I think Flex mode was a god scend for wow in general for this exact reason… I wonder what a 20 man raid size for every raid would look like (nonblizz servers have messed around with that from time to time).

With increased difficulty comes increase min/max but that is probably who this mastery season is aimed at.

The loot drama is going to be Jerry Springer levels of chaos.

This direction of faster cadence and a focus on seasonal servers is such a huge mistake.

People expecting WoW classic again, I’m sorry to burst your bubbles you won’t get it. The community is gonna be totally different because these sort of servers appeal to a very specific type of player. Any MMO that has this sort of seasonal cadence has this exact issue (Everquest, Star Wars Galaxies etc). You’re appealing to the hardcore, sweaty, classic andy private server types with a server like this.

No casual player is gonna play on a WoW server that lasts 12 months and doesn’t guarantee their character will even exist after it. People meme on casual players but without them all that’s left is a small toxic subset of very hardcore players and it totally ruins the community and game. Go play on a SWGEmu server and see for yourself what this direction does after some years. If anyone here thought classic was toxic you’ve seen nothing yet lol.

If you want world buffs, play on classic era. Stuff having to get world buffs just because you are behind the main wave of players.

Keep it simple, no world buffs in raids, ever.

Good guilds from pservers will not play this fresh.

If it becomes the main epeen flex, they will.

Thank god!

Now I dont care anymore what you do at seasons, I have my precious classic.

I still feel disabling rank decay is a good way. Someone could then take a break but would still have the challange of being number 1 for several weeks to become Rank 14, if he ever intends to rank up again.

This is exactly how people played on era realms pre TBC. You were not invited into a raid unless you had the gear from it. Retail philosophy

Now on era it´s different, thankfully!

If loot is extra scarce guess those GDKP prices. Swipe that Credit Card for full t1 by phase 2. Botting will be so much more lucrative.

What impact would reducing lockout timers have?

Onyxia daily and MC every 3 days?

Or even messing with drop rates - good loot for everybody (more deathbringers) less junk loot like vendorstrike.

You’re missing the point, let me get the proverbial crayons out…accelerated schedule and same drop rates means people won’t even have their T1 gear when BWL is released and likely still trying to complete it when ZG comes out. lol damn you’re dense

That is honestly my hope and prayer. Your players are toxic, your meta is toxic, and are not welcome in classic fresh. Don’t let the door hit you guys on the way out.

more like, people will be finish Tier 1 when ZG and AQ are out. lol

I genuinely must be, I thought you were upset because you would have to keep farming MC past the point it was progression… It never occurred to me you would complain about the season being too hard, when thats exactly the point of the season… its supposed to be harder, you are not supposed to be BIS at the start of each tier, thats a part of where the difficulty comes from, less stamina, less AP, smaller mana pools, less set bonuses, the other tunning knob is adjusting the bosses… its about increasing the difficulty and being a “master” of the content… they already said they are buffing gathering nodes i.e crafting gear probably becomes a more meaningful source of filling in slots… I imagine more black lotus too.

Hopefully they expand the scope to shake up the meta too, no more fury war dominance, maybe given TC in def stance with TBC threat numbers.

I just have no interest unless there’s class balance and other things mixed up like item stats.

Class balance would be nice, not saying all specs need to be equal but give them a chance ya know? fixing items would be nice but less of a priority for me.
