WoW Classic led to the biggest quarterly increase in subs in WoW history

I don’t believe you.

Can you link an official blue post or something from blizzard stating no paid server transfers?

They have stated server transfers would be available in the future and have already done these. Paid transfers doesn’t seem like that much of a stretch if they’re offering free transfers.

Edit: I searched and came up with nothing from blizzard saying this service was off the table. I did however find a post in their Reddit AMA saying this is the one character service they are considering for classic.

Calling people idiots over something you’re 100% wrong on. Lol.

Sadly half of those subs already quit.

retention in october is still much higher than anticipated though and its serving to bolster retail’s numbers too.

I wonder how much interest phase 2 will generate. Guessing not much to bring in new subs.

Also, xpacs come with a price tag. Despite BfA not being a good xpac for players, Blizz knows people are going to buy any WoW xpac at $40 or more every two years. All Blizz has to do is flip the switch on the hype machine. That’s one big $$$ reason why WoW never went f2p and won’t be going f2p in the foreseeable future.

I am pretty sure you could transfer in vanilla. Only ones you couldn’t transfer to were new servers when the open. I rerolled twice on fresh servers when aq was out. I remember transfers were a thing so maybe in the aq phase they will allow paid xfers.

It will look like standard wow: subs will reactivate when the “new” raid drops.

I know you could transfer in vanilla. That’s why I was wondering why that poster said that paid transfers would not be allowed in Classic.

I dont think classic canceled just players went to retail when 8.3 came out. My server is very strong. My whole friends list was in classic and now its a little more retail. 90 percent of friends list was people i ran mythic 10 with so a more hardcore base.

I think ignorance.

The amazing thing is there is no sarcasm in this post. This is 100% true.

Thats crazy, because all the retail trolls say classic is dead. Its almost like they’re jaded

yes, a token is the equivalent of a sub only 5 dollars more expensive.

Thats because that report took into account the revenue from the expansion itself. Thats why looking at subscription numbers in this report is more indicative of its sucess.

Blizzard knew that alot of people wanted classic due to private servers, you trying to support your retail agenda is weak as best as there essentially never been any big private TBC servers or big sign ups or drives to bring TBC back, all we have is a few fanatics that constantly flood the classic forums, couse they want TBC…

For all we know brining back TBC might as well hurt more then it actually helps blizz… that being said if you want your standalone TBC servers i suggest you petition for them on the right forum, classic isnt the place, couse i dont want TBC retail crap

More than the ostensibly #NoChanges version?

At least retail has new content while classic has nothing but grindy old content. Nostalgia and worn off for many

Wrong.
Classic + is a stupid idea that would make people quit/not bother.

People asked for classic not a classic abomination.

Go back to the retail hamster wheel and get off the classic forums then.

They are, they’re super salty classic made their stupid worthless mounts/titles/battle pets extra redundant.

If I spent the last 10 years farming 500 mounts only for it all to be made worthless by classic I might be pissed off and in denial to.
