Who do you think I’m talking to?
And when has anyone ever claimed U.S. fall ends in September?

Eh typo. Starts “Fall”.
Well, I know they have a 100% foolproof way of determining if a character was active pre-cataclysm even absent other landmarks such as a character’s unique identifier having changed. The quest completion history for the character would reveal that information quickly. As the quest flags for the pre-cata content remain set to this day on Retail, even if the quests themselves no longer exist. That isn’t to mention the feats of strength in the Achievement system.
What they probably cannot reliably tell is WHEN those pre-Cataclysm quests were completed, absent the achievement system at least.
If they still have the billing records for when each subscription stopped/started going back to 2004, then that is an even easier task. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they only kept the last X number of years + (current) subscription start date for that, as well as the “account creation date” although that one can get confusing with the matter of the original “WoW Accounts” vs the "Battle.net
Accounts."
They still have the Billing Records. That’s how they assigned the statues to everyone. I can’t go back past 2010 now (10 pages), but back in 2014, I could see my 2004 first entry.
Blizzard’s reps have flat out said they don’t care if only 10 people end up playing Classic. “Appeal to a modern player base” is not why they’re doing Classic WoW.
Those are the very people I am addressing.
They are being willfully obtuse. Labor Day marks the end of the summer activity season for every American. Which exactly coincides with the Meteorological calendar.
I’ve decided that Americans are completely inconsistent on their seasons. Therefore I’m going back to what I was raised on, and 1 June = Summer start, and 31st Aug = Autumn start.
So we only get 4 days of Classic Summer
August 27th is my birthday!! This is just incredible.
They probably had plans to release sooner. But things may have prevented that.
That is exactly when it begins and ends.
Well crap. The world is going to end at midnight. You and I actually agree on something.
Active sub - check
Opt in - check
Collectors edition - check
Beta invite - omg please
Split you a lottery ticket.
As somebody who is in their late 30’s and looking to return to college in the next 1 to 2 years. I know all about people over 25 going to College in the United States.
You’re playing a selective statistics game. As part of the general population the odds of a 28 year old being a (4 year) college student are pretty low. Even as part of the general student population those odds aren’t “very good” as your own number cites more that 57% of college students are under 25. This is even more applicable when you consider that your “over 25” number includes senior citizens.
My Account Transaction history has 3 pages, the third page has 3 lines on it. The oldest transaction on record is in July 2008 when I purchased a Battle.net Authenticator
.
The sub requirement is very disappointing, Kaivax!
Being the very first beta that requires a sub feels like a naked cash grab by the higher-ups. (I’m not necessarily saying that’s true; you might have a reason for it. But that’s what it feels like to me.)
I also have a request for clarification; is it necessary to have an active sub to play the beta, or to be considered for invitation to the beta? Because if it’s necessary to even be considered for invite, it’s already too late for those of us without a sub to re-sub for it. If invites are going out tomorrow, you’ve already picked your people, and being told that we should have been subbed to be considered does not feel good (especially since the whole reason that this project is existing is that most of the people who are interested in it do not want to play BFA!)
I also don’t think it’s appropriate to consider length of subscription as a positive thing when selecting beta participants. People who like modern WoW are not the target audience. That said, it’s certainly possible to derive useful information from that metric; for example, someone who was subbed continuously from launch-Cataclysm, but intermittently at best since then, is probably an excellent member of the target audience. On the other hand, someone who started in MoP and has been subbed since they started playing is probably not.
im happy
If it’s a matter of having a Classic/BC/LK account then it shouldn’t be too bad. If it’s a matter of having played a lot of BFA, well.
Not going to disagree.
Looks like I’ll be missing out on beta. I absolutely will not buy game time for a chance to play in a limited setting (beta).
If I get a beta invite first, I will reconsider
And yeah, no way I will resubscribe for a beta lottery. I’ll wait and see what you all have to say about it in the reviews.
