Wow Classic Fresh.. What in the literall. New Account Restrictions

So my buddy and his son just started playing today because I told him about the new Classic Fresh server launch.

They can’t trade anything, so I can’t make them bags or trade stuff with them. They can’t use the auction house. Can’t be invited to my guild.

Why would anyone start playing again if you literally are made into playing like its a single player game.

Yea but even a blue post says i should be able to trade with them if we are in the same guild. It wont let me invite them to the guild.

This measure isnt meant for classic realms per a blue post and should be fixed soon.

I certainly hope this is true! It’s very disheartening so far. Edit: I can’t seem to find that post… could you please link it? Edit: found it here: https://www.wowhead.com/classic/news/account-restrictions-for-new-players-season-of-discovery-338586 hopefully this is true!

I was able to trade TO my gf while she had the restrictions and we weren’t in a guild. She just couldn’t trade to me.

They can’t even mail stuff to a bank alt to make inventory manageable.

It’s completely absurd.

It’s your fault for not predicting that you would play 30 days prior to the day you started playing.

Just removed from dungeon group because I couldn’t trade water in group. HORRIBLE DESIGN Blizzard
This is not a fun experience at all

It’s a restriction in Cataclysm Classic to combat RMT, but you know. Small indie company. Multi-dollar budget.

Also the last blue post in the wowhear article said its only for SOD.

If we are getting SOD only features, well then…where is the xp and gold boost buff lol.

Sad to see this stopping so many new or returning players from enjoying the game.

Anyone agreeing that this is a good way for blizz to fight bots is just drinking the Kool aid. Let’s call it like it is, blizz won’t invest real resources into combatting bots so they take the cheap route of just restricting “new accounts”. Does essentially nothing to reduce botting other than make botters pay an extra month of game time before they can trade…meanwhile, players are punished for the company’s laziness.

I love classic and used to respect this company, but these restrictions being applied to classic fresh are just another example of their ineptitude.

I made a new thread based on the recommendations of 2 GMs, who were very helpful and mildy sympathetic to the issue at hand. Here’s to hoping that Blizzard would do good and Devs take notice to give us a positive solution.
