Hi Blizzard Team,
First, I’d like to acknowledge Game Masters Woranachis & Doipiehuax, who took the time to respond to my concerns about account restrictions in WoW Classic. Their professionalism and helpfulness are greatly appreciated.
As a veteran player with over 12 years of account history, I recently returned to WoW Classic for the 20th Anniversary Edition to enjoy a fresh start while reminiscing on my old playing days. While I understand the need for safeguards against abuse, I was surprised to face “Starter Edition Limitations” such as being unable to trade or use the Auction House fully despite my account’s good standing.
These restrictions, while likely developed with good intentions, feel overly strict for returniing players who have demonstrated loyalty and account integrity. I’ve noticed that other veteran players in the forums share similar frustrations which highlights a broader concern.
I understand these policies aim to protect the ingame economy but I believe there’s room for a more flexible system. For example, accounts with significant history or a proven record of good behavior could be exempt from these restrictions. Such a change would make returning players feel more valued and improve the overall experience.
I hope the development team will consider this feedback when reviewing policies for veteran players, especially since I believe that one of the main reason of having a fresh server on WoW Classic 20th Anniversary is inviting veteran players who have been away for a while, such as myself, a path back into this amazing game which we grew up with.
I would like to thank the Developers & Game Masters for taking the time to read this, and for continuing to support the community.
I would also send a message to all who are facing the same issue: let us believe that Blizzard cares for the players, and that they would do something positive for us. This is, after all, a company we grew up with.
Best regards,
D
