Faerlina is the US Streamer Server. Please reconsider and do not combine this with any other realm. Leave as is. That place is helluva toxic.
Like countless other classic players, I purposely avoided Faerlina for this exact reason. This new combined PvP Horde dominated server WILL BECOME the new US Streamer server as a result if you proceed as is.
I honestly think you’re underestimating (again) how many players will continue on with classic-only toons in addition to their TBC clone.
More options on servers would be ideal instead of this truncation, as well as the free option to select your new classic server (within the existing limitations for character server transfers that exist).
Especially horde side. I’m not sure if letting transfers to PvE > PvP is a solution though, there are those that prefer to play on PvE.
Would being able to share a chat with the PvP mega server and be able to group and zone into each others instances be a solution? This way the whole of Oceania can talk to each other and raid together.
Also being limited to Horde or Ally on PvP servers has been pretty much thrown out the window here so you may as well open everything up.
Yeah we’re pretty out in the cold here being the only OCE PVE realm was kinda hoping we would still get linked to a us server or a pvp server but dunno how / if that would have worked
I hope Blizzard has done their research. Right now some of these connections would mean 30,000+ active players on one server. There’s no going back after this. Maybe 10% will stick with Classic, so it goes down to a more reasonable 3,000?
Like someone else wrote, it will probably still be there on the specific server, but you can now get around it because of connected realms. In other words, if you have Horde on Kurrinax, you will still be unable to make new Alliance characters on Kurrinax, but can now get around it by creating Alliance characters on another realm that’s connected with Kurrinax. Kind of defeats the purpose, but there isn’t any way around it with connected realms.
The only way it could work is if they moved OCE to US, but that would mean 200+ ms pings for you while most players (US) would be sitting at <50ms.
World bosses have days of respawn time, herbs take many hours, rare monsters up to days… how is this supposed to work, if we now have so many players on each realm?
How are we supposed to do the fishing event, gurubashi with so many people?
You dont seem to understand how Classic respawns are balanced.
World bosses have days of resapwn time, so if one guild kills a dragon, that dragon is then gone. If you merge realms, the competition will sky rock and if you have a popular streamer guild on your server, then you will never get a shot at the world bosses ever again, as they will camp it.
In the past, you did avoid this by just not playing at the streamer realm, in future you have no choice anymore, as the realms are connected.
It works the same with herbs or rares in general. If your server is merged with a bot realm or again streamer realm, you will be unable to ever farm anything, leave alone winning the fishing event, gurubashi and so on.
Blizzard can only fix this, by making world bosses, rares, herbs spawn independently of the realm, but depending on the account like in retail. That is btw. the reason why retail now has a different tag, gathering and world boss system.
It would be awful…but kinda funny too…if a pve realm was merged with a pvp realm. The pve realm would have a real case for complaint, of course…but it would be really, really fun to watch.
I’d be crushed! I LOVE BB! We have such a nice community! I don’t actually consider it “dead” just “slow”. 'Cause we’re REAL casual. We don’t endure most of the “problems” other Servers face. Hardly anybody here is trying to sell Boosts (there’s like a couple but not as bad as other Servers, believe me!) nor hosting a million GDKP runs or even hosting a WB market. I didn’t know that was a thing, until I visited a PvP Server to see “how bad” things are.
