It was already on the retail client and servers, the only difference was that they were using the “ERA” Database. Part of the Database is the UI, Menu, spells and abilities, and other things that you associate with being the game.
Look at the bright side possibly the bots are all broken too.
Why on earth would you make changes to the classic UI? Either you call it classic or it is not classic.

It’s never been classic bro. It was originally on the Legion client when classic launched.
Actually unplayable right now. Not to mention the ninja update on the UI. The future is grim for WoW Classic

It will. Why should players expect such changes in a Classic server? Why are these toggleable options even being added? No one asked for any of this.

i theorize the landscape is changing so rapidly, that what was said by person #1 at point B, is not the same because person #1 either quit or was fired and replaced by person #2 at point D. etc
perhaps because wrath, which era shares features with, is about to turn into cata, so what we’re seeing isnt dragonflight, its cata.
They released a poll asking if anyone wanted Cata-Classic.
People overwhelmingly voted that they did NOT want Cata-Classic.
We’re probably getting spoonfed Cata-classic.

there were some things i liked about cata but most of it was not my fav. things i liked about it were:
flying in the old world - what can i say, i’m not a pvper so i loved being able to fly in azeroth.
sand drake - so useful, a 2-seater flying mount.
archaeology. loved it.
the big, beautiful, colorful flying mounts in various fiery colors, even green.
the legendary staff. epic event.
Used to have perfect settings no lag, nothing. Whatever they did is making me want to unsub as well. I work 55 hours a week and my only solace is coming home to play a few hours of wow before I wake up and do my work schedule all over again the next day. There’s an old saying that goes “don’t fix something if it isn’t broken”. Why did they do this. literally nobody asked for this. What a massive failure, I’m so done with this shyt right now.

I don’t remember this happening to Classic era when tbc turned to wrath.
Wands are fine its them switching to a client that doesn’t even USE wands that is not working.

I personally prefer the old school UI for WoW. That being said I’m not opposed to any changes… But it’d be nice to have a choice.

well there was a graphics update in og wrath. maybe another in cata? if they are copying over how the engine handles textures, that might explain the extra stress on older machines. its not the art, its how the engine handles the art…theoretically.

To the whiners saying everything is broken. Welcome to WoW, you’re clearly brand new and have not been here for many major updates. Often times setting will be updated and the default options will not be what you’re used to, find the setting and revert. Nearly always, addons will need a few days to be updated, and initially, if you load them out of date, you’ll have errors, lag, etc. Hope this helps, and again, welcome!
