Classic will essentially be part of a unified “World of Warcraft subscription”. It’s no different from Netflix: You can’t get them to remove things from your library that you don’t want, even if they don’t reduce the price.
If you can’t handle simply ignoring it, then feel free to not subscribe and not play Classic.

Yes you are subscribed to WOW, and base wow is included as well as CLassic, and you have to option to only download and install the version you want and completely ignore the other.
The don’t ever download or install it, as far as your concerned it doesn’t exist, as you are not required to interact with it unless you want to.
There is no difference between a 15$ classic only sub and a 15$ sub that includes classic with Base Wow, which you do not have to download, touch, acknowledge it even exists.
no they are the truth, I laid it out pretty clearly, only thing being given is the option for either version, nothing is forced upon you, unless you really dislike having an option at all.

Complaining about paying $15 for BfA and Classic instead of just $15 for Classic is the argument of “I can’t handle it, so they should cater it to me”.

Nothing is forced on you, you clearly hate current, well fine, you are fine with 15$, also fine, well with this option, you don’t have to touch,download,look at, acknowledge its existence, it essentially does NOT exist for you.

I can understand the sub cost for a game that’s going to continue to get new content but wow classic is just going to be a finished product. considering we already now all the content that was in classic. than again it really does not affect me since i only play the current retail and probably won’t bother with classic.

What about the people playing modern retail that have no desire to play classic, should they get a reduced sub also? They even paid a box charge which is something Classic player will not have to do.

Honestly that sounds more like a “you and your self control” issue.
It’s very much different from netflix, netflix gives you hundreds if not thousands of things in their library for it to be a fair comparison the wow sub would have to have every game blizzard and acivition have ever made on it available to the subscriber regardless of weather or not they paid the box cost for those games.
Honestly it sounds like he should cancel his internet and smash his pc. That will solve having to deal with the option of downloading games he doesn’t want to play with other people.
What he needs is a nice side scrolling platformer. Maybe check out the classic Nes.

paying for a sub is just fine, blizzard said sub, you do not have to buy the current expac, imo this is seriously generous. you will have option to play classic, and 1-110 content for one price.
those who play private servers which can be free, how long do they last though, legal action, controversy, corruption can cause them to be shutdown. many times these servers after a certain amount of time go down, due to costs, people running them no longer having the time
all characters wiped, all lost, all time wasted can be monetized into actual RL money lost
So I downloaded that free Destiny game. Wow. It’s pretty fun. Bit on the easy side for the campaign so far but still fun.
They reeled me in on that free overwatch weekend too.
Glad they had the sale on it though.
Then steam reeled me in for like $30 on like 6 games.
I’m a whale but I’ll have plenty to play until classic.
