There’s a content drought that will occur with Classic. Everyone who pays the sub is going to have access to Classic - everyone, from the Classic-only crowd, the private server crowd, the retail tourists, and especially the trolls, Wall of No or Project 60 or neither. There’s still the occasional troll from another game trying to tell us to play some other game instead of WoW. Right now, there’s the ESO crowd who is pretty desperate for people to come play with them, so they log into WoW to tell us how great ESO is.
There will be trolls - they are coming, whether you like them to or not - and a separate sub or a box cost is not going to stop them.
My suggestion is that you learn how to right-click report. If that’s too difficult or modern for you, there is still a form you can fill out to petition a GM to look into trolling behavior.
Classic is going to have a content drought. In order for some players to be happy, they want the servers to be restarted, like on their progressive private servers. You can call them locusts, or whatever.
Believe it or not. If that’s the only thing you need to be convinced of, that’s really on you.
Most people here don’t want their progress erased, but some do, and they’re asking for this. Like “Hardcore” servers or whatever.
Good GOD, they are two different things! Replaying the same content over on a fresh server is NOT the same as stopping play of a game until NEW content comes out.

Make it new, by restarting. Make the experience “fresh” and rediscover the old content.
Your ignorance and your shortsightedness are what has basically clouded every argument you have. The whole point of Classic is to relive the Vanilla experience, and that includes the points of the game that they most enjoy.
Just take a look at the content buckets, the patch progression, as you will. There’s a time of Vanilla without Battlegrounds - there’s people who want Classic to have no Battlegrounds or Battlemasters. There’s time of Vanilla where there were random Scourge attacks in the middle of nowhere, an EPL where Light’s Hope Chapel isn’t surrounded with Naxx NPCs.
Or the Opening of the AQ gates. How many people actually got to see the Gate Opening event? How many people will?
Will this be a one time thing per server? Or will players have the chance to see it again?
Do you see why some people want fresh servers, other than “Server Firsts?”

You seem to have an issue with the sub fee, fair enough but where did you get the impression that there wasn’t going to be one? From day on blizzard has said “classic server option”. Doesn’t take a rocket surgeon long to figure out they would be combined subs with that statement.

For what it’s worth (nothing) I’ll add this to the thread on my way out of the forum. Some of us are not objecting to a combined sub, I could care less what they do with my money once they have it. Some of us are just wondering how the genre got to the point that picking up a 14 year old code-base and dusting it off merits a premium subscription rate. I’ll pay $15 a month for a game in development, one in which I know new content is coming and new features will be delivered. What I will not do is pay that same premium rate for a museum piece. I would gladly pay a one time premium box price or a reduced (non premium) subscription as they do have costs to recover and deserve a profit, but I see no reason at all to pay the full price for what we are getting. No, I quit Retail and do not want to play it anymore so getting it included isn’t a bonus.
Enjoy the game folks, it is something many of us have wanted for a long time, a few of us just thought it would come at a reasonable price (I guess you can call it a principle thing). I know, you will all be better off without me and I should get a job so I can afford the $15, did I miss anything?
Some people have. Lots of other people…find it convenient to translate any and all objections to paying $15 for a combined subscription labeled as “retail with Classic as a bonus” to “I am cheap/broke.”
