WoW Classic Closed Beta Has Returned

You mean like the stress test they literally just had the other day?

Don’t even bother trying to explain it to them. They assume it’s just people whining because we didn’t get an invite and nothing we can say will change their mind. Seriously though, if all the servers had meltdowns just during the NAME GRAB, then clearly more stress testing needs to happen, because the servers were woefully inadequate to handle the massive load of everyone trying to log on at once just to get to the character screen, let alone try to play on. Having yet another closed beta with a small/limited population will not serve to help in that regard AT ALL. Sure more bugs can be found, but when it comes to rooting out the potential problems with layering, there simply aren’t enough people. Why not kill two birds with one stone? Is it that hard to figure out? No I’m not salty about not getting a beta invite. I haven’t been subbed since the end of April up until recently so of course I don’t expect to get one

THis is so awesome.

Thanks blizz!

Back in the saddle again!

Those videos are Chicken soup for the soul.

can still hope for it right?

5pm central/6pm eastern time. That’s when a lot of people get home from work. Reserving your name is something that demands immediate attention if you want to get your name before someone else does.

If that was a surprise to you then you’re going to be in for a huge shock on launch day. There will be a queue I’m sure. Just hope it’s not too long.

Log in servers and actual game servers are two completely different things. If the log in server goes down the people in the game are not effected at all. If the game servers go down you can log into the game and see the server offline message.

What happened during the name grab thing was that millions of people were trying to log in all at the same time.

You mean the one that strangely wasn’t open to everyone? Because despite being subbed I had no beta access.

Says the beta tester… lol

I got the names I wanted so no that wasn’t an issue for me, but it WAS an issue for many others as is evident on the various threads about it elsewhere in the forums. I was merely saying that the server problems during the name grab were clearly evident that there would also be problems with the game servers as well. And yes I know there are separate servers for each. Blizzard definitely underestimated just how many people would be coming to play Classic and yesterday proved it

… from the 8th until the 12th we had an open beta test for anyone with an active subscription how in the holy hell did you not know about it?

Weird how despite having a sub I still had no access to such a thing.

Some people didn’t see the option to install the classic client in battle.net unless they had updated or uninstalled/reinstalled. forums were full of posts about it so its not like the info wasn’t out there. if you had the classic client you got in, simple as that.

They’ll raise the cap

Just saw a streamer have a bug… was it reported? nope… fail

A lot a non-streamers were in the test (like me).

It only takes a few hundred people to work out the major bugs
