WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Realms Information -- Updated Nov. 18

PLEASE just do your job and perma ban any gold buyer or seller instead of choosing the lazy route banning gdkp and spitting in the face of a huge portion of your player base that enjoys a certain way of raiding!

Couldn’t agree more. Even anecdotally, everyone I know who was asking for a fresh over the last several years, have all indicated they won’t be playing this because of the GDKP ban. Many of the vanilla purists on era are also dodging this fresh, because of the GDKP ban. Dead on arrival. GL

Except it doesn’t. Era/hardcore is the only vanilla iteration and era is completely wrecked by gdkps and hardcore is for an extremely niche audience. SoD is not vanilla it’s some ungodly mashup version of vanilla with wrath and tbc talents/abilities added.

Have level 60 character boosts available for when tbc drops in like 2026. Thanks

They won’t touch era, they made fresh to avoid touching it. If you want GDKP stay in era, if you want to play without GDKP play fresh.

Why aren’t you doing anything against the Petry+ log-out/port out exploit? It shouldn’t be an actual mechanic in the game to force log-outs and be rewarded…

Your character should not begin it’s despawn timer/instance port timer, until after the Petry flask is finished.

Horrible take. The majority of era players want a fresh. You’re just a bandwagon cringelord who is only riding the hype train. Many of us have been awaiting a 2019 fresh version for years now. “Stay on era” is an ignorant and ridiculous take. The community that has been vocal and delivered this fresh is now being told not to partake. Goodjob. Find God.

And this is SO not true.
Hardcore - back then called IronMan - was invented in Cata to make up for the overwhelming ease and triviality of (mainly the PvE) contents. The challenge has always been to reach max level in any given expansion.
The rules have changed and been modified over time, new challenges have come and gone, but ever since 2012 the challenge was to reach max level - then 85 - without dying.

I’ve been waiting for fresh since GDKPs and boosts killed classic in a matter of months. Honestly thankful they’re gone; next they need to do away with boosting.

that will be dead lmao

tbc ALWAYS dies after ssc

I’m too invested in Era to play fresh, but if I did want to play fresh I’d be very upset about the no GDKP policy. Many others will be as seen in this thread.

The fresh servers will be riddled with bots and RMT with or without GDKP unless Blizzard actually decides to do something real. But the community is full of :poop: eaters who will eat whatever :poop: is thrown at them.

no reason why that can’t continue in tbc.

Well, you can still sell gear to others in era. If you’re not playing fresh, then why are you concerned? Customers vanishing?

I have to say, I’m really confused by these new anniversary servers. People who enjoy Vanilla content are most likely playing SoD or Classic Era right now. SoD players like the new class abilities and balance changes, and probably wouldn’t be interested in a fresh go seeing as we haven’t even gotten to Naxx yet, and GDKP is very popular among Era players. I’m just struggling to see how there could be a large enough group of interested people to justify these new servers. I’m thinking back to how quickly SoM died out, and not really seeing anything compelling about this particular fresh go. Maybe I’d be excited if it was just a straight jump into TBC.

Regarding GDKPs - I think it was a good experiment for SoD, but in my personal experience, I am just completely disinterested in any sort of pug raiding without GDKP in SoD atm, which is a bummer. But who knows, Blizzard has the numbers, so maybe it has really curbed botting and RMT, I’m not sure.

Honestly, the most exciting part of this post might be the new LFG tool and services chat thing. I think it’s a good move to implement an LFG tool when an addon is basically required to find groups, which is often the case on high pop vanilla realms. Services chat should be good to help separate out some chat spam that players may or may not want to see.

Only guild, though, not options :frowning:

Yeah, this kid is a typical cringelord who wants to deny others of their preferred way to play the game. The game can coexist with GDKP’s and guilds, as it always has. LC and SR guilds will always exist. GDKP’s give the vast majority an opportunity to raid, play alts, make gold (in a legitimate fashion), and offers significantly more incentive to create/run/lead pugs. But unfortunately these self-entitled pigs have to have it their way only.

Dude, just go sell Dark and Darker gold or something. It runs on Linux, so it’s easy to hack.

Yep I do, and half of the realms did not die before TBCC, as per the stats, in fact like 85% of the realms had a population before TBCC with only like 15% of them being “truly dead”, but knowing that requires a person to pay attention, or do research to review the facts, most people do what you did there though and arrogantly pull things out of thin air, and then when called out either ignore it or refuse to take ownership for not knowing, or gaslight. I know how these forums are.

This was expected though, it’s these devs direction, so I’m not mad but yeah I can make posts like that because do I expect to remember rivalries or anything that makes the game memorable for me 5 years from now? Nope.

All I know is I was happy to be there for Vanilla, Classic 2019, and the original Cata. Someone from my Vanilla realm reached out to me the other day and we swapped stories about what happened 20 years ago.

If they could put out one RP PVP realm and not kill it like they did with SoD Chaos Bolt it would be nice for those who want a(n RP) community part to their MMO.

:credit_card: :coin: I enjoy teasing the GDKP community. Seriously though I know it’s not the loot system’s fault, It’s a mix of poor enforcement on RMT from Blizzard and the handful of scum who support the RMT. Not saying every GDKP player is like this, just a % of them.
