That’s the mistake right there. You and people like you confuse paying for someone else to gear you out and level your alts as actually playing. No, you’re paying to let other people play for you. And making the argument of “You can play in a guild that doesn’t do GDKP” gets weaker and weaker every passing month because more and more no-gdkp guilds disappear/disband/dissolve. Like Whitemane for example, over 87% of all free-to-play guilds on that server are just gone, and the ones that are left are locked into their core members and aren’t gonna replace one of them for some random. And the cost to participate in a GDKP run is so grossly expensive that the only way to actually participate is to buy gold from RMT services. And the people running GKDP’s wont let you go into raids as an earner until you’ve both spent tens of thousands of gold, hundreds of thousands of gold at their GDKP runs as a buyer before they’ll let you in as an earner. That’s not even counting the fact that you gotta be full BiS and be a top parser.
GDKP is a blight on this game and it needs to go. Though I know Blizzard will never get rid of it fully because they’re making money hand over fist in Cata Classic off people buying WoW Tokens to fund the absolutely insane amount of gold you money launderers require to do GDKPs.
I don’t get carried. I have never been carried. I am the carrier. I carry on my alts. I carry on my mains. I don’t enter raids I’m not geared for or don’t have the appropriate consumables for.
I don’t boost my characters. I level them out in the world. I quest. I enjoy it.
Again, you don’t have the slightest clue who you’re talking to.
You can. <Forever Classic> has been running a BWL/MC SR for like the last 3 years every Wednesday. I’m doing it tomorrow. I’m not in that guild. It’s pretty easy to get into that run. Just don’t be a doofus.
You are correct though that most runs are GDKP. But this is to be expected in a long running server. People get their BiS and they just have less reason to raid on a BiS character. Most guilds are going to struggle to stick around for 5 years with other loot systems as they’re typically less alt friendly.
Who? When? Where? What raids? I’ve never seen this. Maybe it’s an Alliance thing?
As one who has never purchased gold I can tell you this is entirely false. It is a straight up lie that people who hate GDKP keep telling themselves.
In certain environments I would agree. It’s cancer for sure wherever the WoW token exists. But then so is any version of WoW with the WoW token period.
Your entire post is full of lies, hypocrisy and copium. It’s been proven by many different sources, not just me that this is how it works. I can log onto an era server right now and ask a GDKP what’s it gonna take realistically to get a spot as an earner and that’s the answer they’ll give me because…shocker…that’s the answer I was given by more than a few GDKP guilds/hosts.
If you’re the one leading GDKP’s makes me wonder if you shouldn’t be investigated for RMT.
If that’s the case things must be different Alliance side. My guild doesn’t ever ask people how much gold they have. Although we usually run with 80-90% guildies or trusted players. And when I say trust it’s entirely a trust in their performance and not in their pockets.
Need to Also do something about the Black Lotus Botting!! those bots don’t have to sleep, eat or work and i hate how i can’t farm them when you got a bot on top of every location and they are charging 1500 per on ah because they are botting.
We’ve been told no OCE Realms. PvE On US West, PvP and HC on US East. Many of us legitimately won’t be playing if this is confirmed.
Quote from Tom Ellis on Twitter - Seems to be a Senior Producer for WoW:
Sure? Again, with every Classic launch of anything there is huge variance in player numbers, if we see a ton of OCE players showing up we can do something about that and use FCMs to get you over to something AU hosted.
You can have your opinion but the numbers generally agree, a healthy realm you can actually raid on is better than a realm with a 200ms better ping.
Right! I don’t know what it is about fresh servers, but it is a magical thing!
Yup - I agree and was looking forward to it to the point where I booked Monday and Tuesday off work next week to be able to relax and enjoy it. At that point I had assumed that Oceanic Servers were a given. Now instead I find myself being a forum warrior and hoping against hope that there will be OCE Realms, which is looking to be highly unlikely, and getting ready to cancel both my leave and my subscription as a result.
I really hope you enable guild banks. I think that would be a nice QoL change instead of a network of extra bank characters serving the same function reliant on specific guildies to be online pre-raids.
Not a huge amount of “wisdom” detected in your comment. Instant permabans for first-time, low-impact offenders is absurd, overzealous, and doesn’t achieve what you think it does.
Lets stop and think critically about this for even just a second: if someone gets a permaban (aka loses years of characters/work), they’ll just be even more incentivized to purchase gold on their fresh account, because now they 1) have far less to lose, 2) want to catch up, 3) are potentially embittered/apathetic. A temp ban (and removal of all gold/contraband, which is what Blizzard does) incentivizes the player to play fair or risk losing their beloved account forever.
Your “solution” is like sweeping dirt under a rug… doesn’t actually solve the problem, just theatrics to make things look better at a surface level - and actually makes for more dirt in the long run.
