Why is the interaction with boomstick and strafing so weird? I am facing the target but running sideways… but it shoots sideways. I like the ability but this is so clunky. Can’t they change it to simply shoot at the target direction lol. KISS… keep it simple, silly.
Does it not just function the same way Fury of the Eagle did? Just channels in a cone the direction you’re facing
It could be the animation but it just feels slow and clunky. Fote feels faster and more fluid.
It could be because we’re comparing end of expansion Haste to start of expansion. Everything feels slower when we don’t have as much min max stats
I don’t have beta though I’m poor, if you guys say it feels weird I’ll take your word for it
Edit: Checked the tooltips on Midnight talent calculator and War Within on WoWhead and both abilities are baseline 3 second channel
One more reason for me to really dislike this ability. Gonna suck in PvP especially if you can’t even strafe.
I assumed that’s how it would work too at least. If not, they really should just delete this or make it optional. Maybe rename it to “
on a Stick.”
That’s a good thought but I copied my live character to the beta to test and it still felt bad. I’ll have to look into it more.
Ok so in that case the fells bad moment is probably based on how the numbers show up/animation. It just feels slow.
Been testing it yesterday and not only does it look completely stupid it feels so jank.
Haste has nothign to do with it. My toon copied over has 38% Crit 35% haste and 50% mastery.
its just a VERY badly designed ability thats needs to be removed, reverted or totaly re done.
It is very strange. I don’t know how it made it past the drawing boards.
i didnt really notice a single difference between fote and boomstick all alpha.

I mean that’s great, I did not and am now just playing with it which is why I asked.
I don’t think it’s clunky at all really, the only difference is it’s 4 bigger hits instead of however many tiny hits fote is. should function the exact same
I think that is what’s messing with my mind, I’m used to the faster/smaller hits vs the bigger/slower hits. Mental placebo.
yeah probably that! not sure how other people are able to trick themselves into thinking it’s so starkly different from fote (it’s not) when they function they exact same way. you can turn, strafe, move, etc
The animation on it needs work. It looks like you are missing when you strafe but the damage still hits. This is what beta is for. Submit your feed back in game and test the next thing.
Is it? I was testing at Garrison dummy and when I strafe, I was not getting hit registrations.
it functions identical to fote, can you explain what you were doing?
I was facing the training dummy and was holding right strafe and was circling the enemy. I then went ahead and pressed Boomstick and it started firing to the right (movement direction) instead of the target (target/camera direction). Animation wise, it missed everything but I expected that it was just an animation glitch but I was not getting hit registrations (numbers popping up) and my combat log did not show it as well but my autoattacks were going through normally.
I have tested this exhaustively on the dummies in dorn and on actual mobs. The animation is def off. The hits are registering. So far I have not been able to make one miss by strafing.
