I believe specifically that nothing should ever be censored.
However, I am okay with private corporations having the right to regulate how their product is consumed. And if that means limiting the language use in order to make it okay for a 12yr old to play, fine by me. If it means limited language in order to not be hurtful to a group or minority, I’m okay with that. If it means limited language so I can’t call you an offensive adjective - I’m okay with that.
Yes, because regardless of what I believe, it’s not my game - but I want to play it, and it doesn’t hurt me or cost me anything to respect their speech rules - especially given that the rules of such are only there, to prevent unnecessarily hurting a persons feelings, by using foul (or socially unacceptable) language.
OP if you want to have a free and open game or media platform where you can say anything you want or cuss out others in foul language then you put up the money and do it yourself and see how long it will last…in most cases it won’t last long with most folks other then the dim witted ones that can only speak using every other word is a cuss word…very much lack of education from those that speak like that anyway.
Well there’s a happy medium. Working on long projects is like running a marathon. If you go out like a rabbit you will get burned out and go nowhere but if you stop at a diner mid race for fried eggs, bacon and grits you are not likely to win either.
Because they are pathetic. But also because it’s a private company and they can do what they want.
No it hasn’t. Get that through your thick skull. The Constitution never guaranteed freedom speech for anything that wasn’t solely the government.
If you respect this person’s opinion then you must also respect Blizzard’s opinion that if they want to shut you up, they get to even if they are a bunch of wussies pandering to the rainbow riff raff while hypocritically kneeling to Chinese rules so they can be greedily make bank over there too.
Online discourse is pretty simple, allow and and all speech that does not call to violence or break any laws. (obviously not that simple in countries around the EU and AU who think offending someone is a crime. Good luck, gents.)
If you think someone should be silenced for their views, then congrats, you’re a fascist.
You realize your own government says that’s ok right? Else groups like the k-lan who are very clearly antagonistic and have even been violent in the past, still get to exist under the law.
It actually very much is. Their ideas/thoughts are that they don’t like or are superior to said people. And in turn, we’re allowed to hate the haters. It goes both ways.
Sure. After all, I do hate those sheet wearing idiots. But the difference is I hate them because they’re vile disgusting people with small, ignorant minds, while they hate other people purely for their skin color.
