Not sure what this thread is about specifically, but Elon Musk’s recent changes to Twitter show why it’s important to have censorship; we’re basically sprinting back to the heyday of the alt-right, people are starting to be like “Ye has a point about the Jews” and getting lots of visibility because Gab/Parler exiles have been allowed to return and spread their filth, etc.
I had a post removed for it and got a bit of a reminder for it. So, now I don’t do it.
sighs and kicks rocks
I will caveat this, just for the clarity of those who may not understand the constitutional protections they have. It does pertain to this forum if the unlikely event occurs that Blizzard tries to take to court some issue of speech. I’m not sure what this fantasy case would look like, but the constitution could then be used to defend the persecuted.
Again, an incredibly unlikely scenario.
Exactly. Freedom of speech doesn’t make you free from consequence.
If you want to be a social pariah, have at it. Scream in that echo chamber.
Private entities and WE THE PEOPLE do not have to tolerate it
God Elon Musk is such a gigantic loser man.
You’ve obviously never been on the Boston Common. There are people there, mostly religious preachers, who literally bring a box to stand on while they rant on all afternoon.
I remember one time I was walking by and a couple guys said “Let’s beat up the preacher”. He stepped down off his box, kneeled on the ground, looked up and started in with “Help me Lord to endure this assault blah blah blah blah”. The two thugs just walked away.
Allowing a swear word is NOT the same as open to slurs.
Your not wanting an immoral space? to who? their are a lot of people who think the whole idea of video games let alone ones with “magic and dragons” is immoral.
You have a game that people literally dance nearly naked on tables and drugs and death, war and genocide… we literally run around trying to murder each other as players… and get rewarded for it.
but saying a bad word and suddenly your "immoral’…
That’s laughable at best… but over all a stupid take.
Your line in the sand what is immoral is hilarious. lol
Ohh, you’re pulling a me. Fair.
Okay, but the difference is those things are generally protected under artistic expression, and they’re often products you have to buy into. That doesn’t, in any way, align with someone choosing to call someone else a slur on a very public social media platform. Just, apples and oranges here.
I shall take that as a complement. +1
I hope your all your BG are winners today.
Too many snowflakes around these days looking for an excuse to be offended and get some attention
Reported @tigersan for being a racist.
its a tos violation. if you dont like it you can leave the platform just like any other company
I live in New England too. Most people leave the crazies alone in places like Boston Common. I know a lot of spots in Boston though where I technically have free speech, but if I value my safety, it would be best to not say a damned thing. Just making a point that freedom of speech isn’t without consequences. Most people have more sense than to shoot their mouth off in public like they do online.
Yes, you understand perfectly.
Or so I thought…
But you still have the freedom to stop supporting this company if it’s acting against your beliefs. So, you’re not being oppressed.
report you for abusing the report system.
1.Him advocating for free speech is not racist.
2. he has said nothign racist.
3. he hasnt, that ive read personally attacked anyone for disagree with him.
Makes you part of the problem not him.
You dont have to agree with him. but you are being toxic for abusing the system.
Call your congressperson and start a nationwide amendment drive to get it added to the law.
We have 2 rando guys in our town. One claps up and down the street really loudly and then tries to fight everyone. Another one taunts all members of the public with weird troll signs on the corner of a street, from a bridge, he even has his own sandwich board… sometimes he’s alt right, sometimes he’s far left, and sometimes he’s measured. He confuses me.
Blizzard has the right to free speech too by controlling the speech that occurs on their platform.
Take it up with the federal government I guess?
