WoW 2 or Endless expansions

Gaming market changed a lot in the interim. Lots more options for eyeballs, many more online gaming genres. Most of them oriented towards much less time-consuming play. Time commitment was always the bugbear for the genre, and that intensified in the time since WoW launched, because new online game types came along which didn’t require either the same time commitment or a subscription fee.

D4 is going to be something like that. Game as live service is the new model, not MMO.

only have a WoW 2 if and when they can make it a Full Dive game. otherwise, it just makes sense to keep building upon the assests that the game already had. there are very few games with as many assets to work with. the game is massive compared to any other game.

So long as all the classic Horde and Alliance buildings remain looking like their WarCraft counterparts. From the RTS.

The main building in razor hill is a Barracks for instance, The Night Elf inns in Darnassus are all Hunter’s Halls. Blood elves have Arcane Sanctums in their designs. ETC.

This game is full of ties to WarCraft 3 and I consider that integral to the artstyle. So long as that stays preserved, I’d love to see them replaced with modern textures.

Make WarCraft A RTS Again

This is my last MMO… If they make a WOW2, this will still be my last MMO.

Though, all that making a WOW2 will do is split the player base even further. It is already split 4 times (Classic, Classic: TBC, Retail w/ Warmode, Retail w/o Warmode) which is why people say they never see anyone.

Overwatch MMO

you think they dont wanna make WoW 2? they would but I thin’ they scared of losing almost half players because after all most of us been playing for over 14 years well some atleast. for me I would not mind starting over, but some just wont

they have new model versions of some of them in wod bfa and legion( for night elf stuff and blood elf stuff only color need changed)

There is no reason for Blizzard to make a huge gamble on a new MMORPG–especially when the MMORPG market is not doing as well as it was a decade ago–when World of Warcraft is doing so well.

And honestly if World of Warcraft wasn’t doing well, they probably would be even less likely to make a “WoW 2”…

There will never be a “world of warcraft 2” If blizzard does decide to invest in a different MMO it will not be Warcraft as the Lore for the story perspective will be all screwy. Instead they would either extend on Diablo or Starcraft; however, given the niche both of those games fill already, it’s doubtful they will muddy the waters. As much as I’d LOOOOVE a good sci-fi MMO, starcraft will never be it, and Diablo is it’s own thing that would not likely cross into the MMORPG moving it to an MMO style would lose a significant portion of their diablo fanbase.

The ties make sense because WOW was originally built on the Warcraft 3 engine with Warcraft 3 assets. Many of those assets are still being used over 20 years later (they started WOW development in 2000).

Endless expansion is the way to go to not screw the playerbase ever further(already got 3 region, 10000 realms , 2 faction , 15 languages, 3 version excluding PTRs)

Jailer is the perfect opportunity too . Make him destroy reality , make us lose this expansion . Classic is the scapegoat for this , If we ever get all classic expansions , retail can allow story to destroy the world and redo it but better than cataclym pls :stuck_out_tongue:

Its a Huge loss of content but thats why we classics and chromie time .

Fun fact: That’s actually why Undermine was scrapped from Vanilla.

The developers used mostly models from WarCraft 3 in Vanilla WoW, and they really wanted to make an entire goblin zone, but it wasn’t really feasible, since even though Warcraft 3 had a lot of Goblins, it didn’t have many buildings or structures based around goblins

And as such. Undermine was cut from the game. Just like Emerald Nightmare and Nazjatar.

Since Overwatch 2 is adding PVE content, it is a possibility…

Not to mention that overwatch is from a discarded MMO project

The proper way would be, eventually to sunset WoW with a Warcraft 4, or even a singleplayer Warcraft RPG, to set a new era of storytelling and world situation, and then would there be grounds for a WoW 2. Going directly into another MMO would destroy the IP honestly.

id actually like that. they could make it so they can present it to both pc’s and consoles and they should allow us to make mods for it. mods keep games alive after years just look at skyrim.

File this under, ‘How to enrage players who have invested over a decade into this MMO.’

I thought they were doing this with WC3 reforged but…

Needless to say I don’t think they got that either anymore.

hopefully they give a whole cata like revamp to every place on wow but add the option to go back to the old world with those time dragons alot of the new zones in bfa and such has.

What would really come of a WoW2 though, new graphics and new lore? They do this every expansion anyways. The graphics are constantly being overhauled, that’s the main one I think that comes to mind when thinking of a sequel. I wouldn’t mind keeping a expac-only model. And then for new-title efforts – make a Warcraft 4! I feel bad for RTS fans!
