You mean Classic and Classic TBC is not the same as EQ2?
would blizzard go into updating old assets like buildings textures and slowly replacing them with the new versions they have every patch or so be something youd like.
I mean, it hasnât even gotten to double digits yet. Weâre you only using 1 hand to count?
No. EQ2 was an entirely new game. Classic brought a lot of former players back rather than splitting them off.
its still alot for a game. besides if they did coose to make a wow 2 it would have to have a time skip.
The game we love has been gone for many expansions now. Time to wrap this bad boy up and move on. There is zero excitement around WoW and the only press they get is bad press or to MEME how bad the company is. They had a good run. There is no way there should be another bad expansion after SL. Just stop!
The perfect time is now for Blizz to change their bad ways and create WoW 2 otherwise be completely devoured by the rest of the industry.
WoW2 would be best for health of the game, as current game has lot of limitations.
WoW2 would also take lot of work and remove all your cosmetic rewards and achievements earned so far, as it would be completely different game.
Donât see WoW2 happening, too much work and reliance on fanbase.
Is it? EQ is on 27, EQ2 is on 17, Eve is on 21âŚany game thatâs persisted for nearly 20 years is going to have a lot of expansions.
- removal of layering, sharding, servering ( one giant megaserver)
- dynamic world that lets you interact / your actions can have lasting impact
- beautiful next gen realistic graphics yet somehow keeping wowâs signature look
- amazing combat system that is world class
- revival of the epic WoW lore into an amazing and immersive experience through non-cookie-cutter questing
- innovative, out of the box ideas and solutions at every turn that is not merely âwhat everyone else in the genre is doingâ
- originality
- more character customization options (within reason)
- sandbox elements and areas
- more use of voice perhaps through proximity voice chat
- high risk / high reward functionality (elements that would create more dangers in the world, more consequences, and thus more thrill. that is the only thing that truly creates value.)
- more difficult in many waysâi.e, the game doesnât hand things over on a silver platter
- less inflated with things that are supposed to be exotic/ highly sought after ( flying mounts?)
- COMPLETE REMOVAL OF CASH SHOPS/ VANITY ITEMS/ PAID COSMETICS/ LEVEL BOOSTING/ anything else that would ruin immersion
- much more of a climb to reach the proverbial top/end game rather than a game being centered around the end, the game is both the journey and the end with a real emphasis on the journey
- inability to be datamined and a much more resistant to things like min maxing / the meta / etc.
- always a sense of mystery in the game and the yearning to really explore⌠it is a world after all!
this would be a good start
Careful, that sounds suspiciously like one of those âsystemsâ that the player base thoroughly hates.
âA key pillar to MMORPG is permanenceâ
100%. No other argument is needed.
I would be one of those not-so-thrilled people. In fact, if a WoW 2 required that everything I had accomplished in current WoW on multiple characters be wiped, that huge time investment for things like Loremaster, I would certainly never play a WoW 2. The fact that nothing I do in Classic or TBCC carries over into Retail is a big disincentive for me to play those, either.
But players who are on the museum version of warcraft are not coming to the retail version, which they long abandoned.
and character voice option like eso has.
and they could have the past expansions pre wow 2 on classic servers one for each expansion.
Yeah, I can totally understand that, and I donât blame ya. It might just be due to the fact that I just donât really see much value in the game anymore.
Ideally, what theyâd do is do a soft reset of WoW. Make another âexpansion,â per say, but just revamp EK/Kalimdor and make it the next big step in the gameâs storytelling experience. Keep all the current stuff that people have. Obviously, itâd take a bit longer in terms of expansion production length, but if they could do that and have a prestige version of classes that youâd level after doing the initial leveling experience (Classic --> Shadowlands) I think thatâd be great.
that is one thing if anything they should allow you to bring over kinda like they do with classic servers. it is already a thing wow has
The problem with WoW 2 would be that not only would it be competing with itself for subscribers, it would also be competing with every other MMO out there. The genre isnât very popular to begin with, it never really was but now it seems to be even less popular than it used to be, which is strange because there are more gamers in general than ever before.
I would love to see a single player based game produced by Blizzard though, something similar to WoW with no subscription fee. I doubt they would do it because of the expenses involved and it wouldnât generate as much revenue as an MMO.
TBC was wow 2
If they want to change the game engine they can do that and call it the next named expansion
I want whatever you are smoking my dude. Loyalty? Blizzard Entertainment is not your friend, its a customer-company relationship. They make a product, if product is good we buy it. If making us wait 8 months for a patch after an expansion release following a very unsatisfactory expansion that was bfa, is âbetter returns for loyaltyâ I think we are screwed.
OR blizz can raise sub fees if they want to and still have you pay for a new box (expansion) every 24 months like they are doing currently. At least here in Canada the sub price increased.
I strongly believe though within the next 2-3 expansions there will definitely be a big change in how blizz operates especially if shadowlands ends up falling way below expectations as it is currently.
Loyalty is essentially your commitment to continue using a good or service. Itâs not fealty or piety.
What Iâm smoking is an education.
