Would you play wow without addons

I was thinking. would ppl still pay wow if there was no addons. WOW may be a better game if there was no addons . you would not know if some 1 was top dps/ healz . what do u all think

I wouldn’t perform nearly as well without addons as I do with them. This isn’t Classic WoW where mages have a one button rotation.

i would if EVERYONE was without addons. I am very curious on how raids would look like without WA and DBM

And how RL would decide on who performs worst without dps meter

I basically play without addons.
I still run meters though.
There’s this 1 dumb PUG group doing Heroic N’zoth every day and they have a 20K DPS mage they refuse to kick. Probably the RL’s mom or something.

FFXIV manages without

You can get a dps meter on pc, but the PS4 portion of the playerbase can’t

Not a chance in hell, the UI is awful, keybinder is clunky and there’s nothing for RP’ers.

I played wow for a long time without addons, the only one I had active was Advanced Interface Options but it was only to display UI options they removed for no reason.

I played my first month without add ons.

Then I used only PAWN for a while.

Then I joined my current guild… installed a million other add ons once I started M+ and raiding.

I am new enough to remember how the game was without it. I can probably still play without issues but it would mean I’d be using external sites to sim for upgrades instead of adjusting my stat weights in pawn using my raidbots stat priority.

I can live without some QoL add ons I have like MaxDPS.

I started off a clicker in WoW for many, many, many years… I still play WoW primarily as a clicker as well, and because I play SWTOR as well, remain a clicker to this day.

I could succeed at WoW with no addons.

I played without add-ons until 2018. And I’m not sure I’d enjoy going back…

Yes I would still play it. But I’m so glad that the devs allow addons because there are so many small things that they just can’t do themselves that can be addressed by the community. And ultimately since Blizz is still in control of what is and is not allowed, it’s a win/win. :+1:

Yes. Addons are just QoL things for me. DBM is nice though. I only use 3 addons as it.

Would I play without addons? Yes. When new patches come out, I’ll disable my addons until they stabilize, and wait until they get fixed.

But the game is way better with addons. One of the smartest decisions Blizzard ever made was to enable player made addons for this game. They give the confines of the API you can work within. But essentially they have crowdsourced the game development for player UIs across the entire playerbase.

Do you have any idea how many standard in game features for the base game now started out as player made addons?

Blizzard let’s players invent. Players pick up the ones that are most useful, and essentially vote by downloading on what features they like most, and then the addons get better and better over time.

It’s a really really good thing.

Besides DPS meters & logs are great, btw. They help you figure out where you are performing well and where you are not so you can figure out how to fix it and do better.
