I swear, all the praise this show got has to be one of the most egregious cases of collective gaslight i’ve seen.

We don’t like it because it took beloved characters and plucked them completely away from the lore and change who they are… Galadriel? Elendil? Elrond? Hell Celebrimbor one of the greatest smith in the history middle earth and he doesn’t know what alloying is? The story-telling, the fight choreography and the characters are all a joke.

Wouldn’t work at a base “retcon the expansion” level as its been used in DF and is heavily referenced in TWW also.
That would mean they are admitting some sort of wrong action or path and Blizzard doesn’t do that unless faced with exceptional and persistant criticism, or some IRL consequence, legal or otherwise. So no. I don’t think anything will be retconned. Forgotten about and rarely mentioned, sure.

Retconning an entire expansion is a poor choice imo.
When Microsoft/Blizz/Activision realize that the majority of people posting online and pushing their agenda are the extreme minority is the day video games become good again. Gaming >Activism. Making Shadowlands a crazy fever dream is what a lot of folk been claiming it was retcon or not. Just no taking my transmog or mounts and yeah sure it was just a fever dream from too much N’Zoth brand fruit drink

Torghast on release was widely panned because of how unbalanced classes were in it, along anima powers. Got the wrong mix of powers in highest level floor for your soul ash? Say goodbye to 1 hour of your time for nothing. Need to do twisted corridors for the quest but likewise can’t actually kill floor 18 boss? That’s 2+ of your time wasted with nothing to show for it.
Covenant restrictions were so God awful and the devs had no excuse, as it was repeatly criticized since beta and it took them over a year later to finally fix the swap restrictions, which is unexcusable.
The expac was alarmingly thin in content. Took 8 months from release for 9.1 to arrive when the wait is normally around 5-6 months per tier. And 9.2 was pretty much the end of SL, no 9.3 and SL didn’t have mini patches like DF did to compensate the missing patch.
9.1 dailies were atrocious with tedious mechanics, atrocious respawn or drop chances for quest items, or quests that just plain sucked. It would be easier to list dailies that didn’t fall into any of the above. Suddenly the “, collect 10 murloc heads”" from vanilla south shore didn’t look so bad anymore.
Numerous world quests on 9.0 had their steps hidden for no other reason than deceiving you and making you waste your time, on top of taking way too, and then there’s Spider in the Wall. Just wowhead that one and read the comments: you’ll see everything wrong with Shadowlands quest design there.
Traveling through the Shadowlands was and still is annoying. You were looking at potentially 10-20 mins spent in flight paths just to do your damn daily emissary, which for some bizarre reason now required you to pick them in your sanctum instead of just auto accepting them like the BFA emissaries. The zones were boring or a chore to travel though, and most of the time you had to travel through Oribos for no reason than just to maximize the amount of wasted player time.
The storyline was dog water, and wotlk and legion already wrapped up the Warcraft 3 storyline. The story was done already, so Stop lying.
I oppose activism that infest movies, tv shows and games by turning them into crap, but Shadowlands is very much a example of this, intentional or not, and a terrible expansion on its own right, and one that deserves to be erased from canon.
The sheer amount of plotholes Shadowlands created along it’s own issues is far bigger than all the other wow expansions combined.
Also, funny that you criticize people pushing agenda by wanting Shadowlands gone when SL is a example of agenda pushing on its own. Existing legacy popular male characters (Arthas, Nerzhul) crapped on and completely eviscerated to prop a unpopular and unlikeable female one (Sylvanas)? Check. One of the most boring, uninteresting big bad since Snoke and Kylo Ren? Check. Reconning what came before for no good reason other than just before? Check. Relying more on shock factor instead of good storytelling and character development? Check. Male characters are mostly useless while narrative overcentralizes on a unlikeable female character? CHECK.

You can disagree, but stop lying. People don’t want Shadowlands gone to push an agenda, they want a terrible expansion with no redeemable features and an atrocious and nonsensical agenda pushing storyline gone, apocrypha at best.
