a headstart received by paying. a headstart that would give players an advantage in both Classic WOW firsts, and a run at the economy.
that is the very definition of pay to win
luckily, Blizzard has shown no previous appetite to include such a system, and i don’t see that changing now…thankfully.

It’s world first classic, pretty simple.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! This is an anti consumer practice that should not exist for any game and really should not be a thing for Classic WoW.
If you want to get ahead of the leveling rush, you work hard get your quests done fast and efficiently.

Classic does not have an achievements system. I have a friend that has made world first max level mage every expansion since those achievements were removed. Or so he claims…
“Run at the economy” what does that mean?
Knowing that, rich people do what rich people do and poor people do what poor people do. Gold farmers will farm and gold spenders will spend.
Translation: an economic oriented player’s start date does not dictate their success. What they “do” does.
That is not pay to win as there is no inherent win involved with the paying. (If so, then everyone with a start date prior to mine paid to win)
Still, Blizzard should NOT hold the launch date back just to collect $ from people that are emotionally attached to being ahead of the pack.
thats like claiming world first to shlt in your own toilet. it might be technically true, but other people have been using the same model for years
people get laughed at for trying to claim world first anything on private servers and classic will be the same. its server first now
Im confused by people saying it will offer an unfair advantage.
If someone plays 8 hours and someone plays 5 hours. The person playing 8 hours has an unfair advantage.
if someone starts a week earlier. But you start a week later and play more, you will eventually pass them in timed played.
That said, I’d rather everyone start at the same time just to have the madness that follows.

My concern is not the starting area congestion, or world firsts, but rather after having waited over a decade of this ending up on a server with a temporary population that is going to be hollowed out when those who have no skin in the game go back to BFA.
I want a healthy and stable population on the server I choose, and I have seen no reason to believe blizzard has any plans to control such things.
Set it and forget it would have perhaps worked, but the whole “everyone with existing sub” price model pretty much destroyed the hope of a decent long term launch population across the servers.
mm, nah, its world first.
the cool and important people like myself think that is stupid
i have spoken
Why would I pay for early access and pay a box cost for a game I already own? This is WoW not kingdom hearts. You’re paying to play based on whether or not you’re subscribed and we’ll all start at the same time.
You do not own anything, you never have. You merely paid for access, and agreed to the terms that the game could and would change over time.

Huh… you must play on a crappy pserver because i’ve never heard anyone be laughed at. Then again I’ve never heard anyone call it a world first on pservers… but Classic is different. It’s an official game. It’s starting over from the beginning. If you don’t think guilds will be rushing to be the first in the world to down ragnaros and onyxia you are delusional.
You won’t. A lot of other people will though. If Blizzard said that you could start a week early a lot of people who can afford it will not hesitate to buy it myself included.
Yes, for those who have an original vanilla product key.
No.
But if they did it instead of sharding then yes,
But I rather no to both.
It’s the same game. People who are rushing to down Rag are going to be the minority. And according to the websites, Rag world first already happened.
lol sure. I can’t wait till people are talking about which guild in the world already downed rag. almost as if they are the first guild in the world to kill rag in classic. I don’t know about you but i’d call that a world first. Haters gonna hate though.
I could possibly see Blizzard making a digital CE but I really doubt they will do a paid early acc. Ill be surprised if they even do a beta thats more than a week long if that.
