In all honesty, I feel as though I am torn between wanting the same RDF we knew back in wotlk so many years ago, and the new system they are developing.
On one side, the RDF we had was an easy way for any player to log into the game and get a few quick dungeons done before going to work or back to everyday work life. This was a great system to level and continue my tasks or quests and not spend countless time in a major city spamming in a chat box.
While I understand the ideology that it harmed the community and created a more distant interaction with players, I found, if used properly, it allowed me to meet new players that I enjoyed running dungeons with and could party with more often for future RDF or normal runs. I don’t believe the idea of endlessly spamming a chat (which as we all know will end up having another addon to simplify it for us) until we organize 5 players to run a dungeon with will promote a better community at all, if anything it will just lead to more toxic groups due to the wait times it took just to start the dungeon.
In terms of the most efficient gearing strategy, I do agree not being able to choose the classes that you’ll be running the dungeon with, therefore competing for gear is more annoying, but as unfortunate as it may feel it is also quite temporary. Dungeon gear both normal and heroic will become obsolete more and more as the expansion goes on, but while that will no longer cause issues with the gearing, players needing dungeons to level or just pass time will suffer due to the fewer and fewer players they can even access in a chat that will then be spammed relentlessly by raiding groups.
What about a hybrid system, that allows for you to select RDF where you get what you get, run the dungeons as is and compete for gear with the other 4 plate wearers in your group. Or you can select the more specific group finder options that allow you to select through available players and choose the members 1 by 1.
How would everyone feel about a more hybrid system? I could be way off, I just figured ask on the forum and possibly spark a discussion or someone else creates a better more fine tune example.
“we” doesn’t have to be indicated a direct correlation to you, an individual who does not share that opinion. “We” is referring to the players, if any, agree or feel my opinion resonates with them.
“We” is more so speaking to us as a community, not a specific thought or idea.
Right, so then your entire army of alts only counts for 1 as well, which means we’re at… a 1:1 tie on whether or not we want RDF for Wrath. Which, as you may guess, still isn’t a general consensus.
So to answer the OP’s question, no, “we” do not want RDF.
He has another one too. Some undead rogue, i forgot the name, evee or something like that. This guy is the biggest forum troll here and isnt fooling anyone.
Never stated anywhere the general consensus was for nor against, simply asked for thought and opinions on both for and against, but primarily on the possibility of a hybrid system.
Don’t talk to him, it’ll go no where and he’s a known troll and possible blizz employee. Yes, the community besides that pointless troll wants RDF.
We all want RDF who the hell wants to spend 2 hours LFG and chances you won’t get invited either if you aren’t playing one of the FOTM classes. I guess you guys never felt what it was like as a boomkin trying to get into heroics during TBC lmao. The sheer stupidity some people have here, RDF benefits everyone and the current LFG cherry-picks a hand few and you will spend more time LFG. Everyone wants classes that can speed clear as fast as possible if you aren’t one of those speed clear classes good luck. On top of this hot garbage I have to deal with entitled players hard reserving everything.
