Wotlk officially dead

Time of day, dude. The time of day is going to have a dramatic impact on wait times. It’s weird how people who don’t experience something immediately negate another person’s experience

When I found out there wasn’t going to be WotLK Era servers I stopped caring. Realizing all my progress would be lost when Cata dropped. That really was the real killer for me and so I been playing SOD non-stop. If they don’t delete my Wrath Severs I’ll come back.

None of your progress is lost.

But going by your logic…why are you playing SoD? All your progress from 25 is lost when the cap goes to 40. And then again when it rises to 50.

Really no point in playing.

Sure that is fair and I am sharing my experience since you are making it seem like nobody is queuing anymore and also failed to mention a specific time of day.

Ftr I normally que at around 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. server times. My experience mentioned above has been for both these time frames on rdf on the Whitemane server. I should have added the specifics in my above post so that people could compare/contrast.

And Wrath pvp is dogwater imo. So yeah, nothing really to do is what made me quit. SoD has been awesome as well, so many different builds and the new raid is super chill, very low barrier to entry for alting with lvl cap at 25. The something old and something new mashup is fire.

Just no competition for me right now. Hell, if SoD is still going strong when cata releases, I’m not sure I’ll be checkin out that xpac. Never been a fan of transmog, rfd, lfr and all that crap that just kills the RPG and makes it simply a game of waiting in queues and goofy mmo emotes.

This man thinks servers with 10-20 layers are dead lmfao. So how many hundreds of thousands does SOD need per server?

Yes we do lol. I am leaving if they don’t provide a permanent wrath classic experience for me.

And if they do say no to me about permanent wrath classic servers. They better not complain about people playing wrath of the lich king on private servers illegally then. We gave them the chance to allow us the legal way of playing permanent wrath classic. And that will be the only option if they choose not to have permanent wrath classic servers.

This has been explained to you over an over again. My ignore must of run out on ya.

Cata is a drastically different game. My Wrath Progression is lost. The talent trees, the zones, the class design, the itemization, the gameplay. It’s all gone. It’s lost. It’s really not hard to grasp.

I’m not playing Cata which is the start of Retail. I’m here to play Wrath forever and continue that progression. Cata destroys Wrath and everything in it. So since Wrath forever isn’t happening, there is no point to play until Blizz announces that will be preserved.

Cata will fail. It’s a bad game and “some changes” won’t make it better. If you like it play it but Wrath players aren’t going too. 5 years from now we want to play Wrath, 20 years from now we want to play some Wrath. Just keep Wrath and what we love.

With that said ignored again.

Unfortunately you lack the basic intelligence to grasp simple logic. First SOD is a new WoW game. Second, your progress isn’t lost in SOD. Next phase is still SOD and it’s continuing that progression. It’s not like next phase the Dark portal opens and Talent trees are replaced, zones, itemization, runes are removed, giving us a different game destroying our progression.

You don’t even know how to make comparisons. You just are mad people really hate Cata and don’t want to play that trash. Just give us Wrath forever servers to enjoy that game.

None of your progress is lost. The fact you apparently value the Wrath experience so little that you stop playing because the game will eventually progress to Cata speaks volumes.

Wrath is officially dead cuz people be requiring 6k gs for a normal icc10 run like it’s the hardest content in the world

Expansions reset your progress, by design so everyone can experience the new content from basically the same starting point, this is not the same as SoD which is just time gated.

On top of the obvious massive gameplay changes going from wrath to Cata, which also don’t happen in SoD.

It’s still there, you’re just writing it off as a loss because it’s not staying relevant forever.

Except maybe the Vanilla zones, but that’s not Wrath, go play Era Vanilla or SoD or something.

Cata is closer to WOTLK than to Retail by far.

Enjoy whatever crappy private server you’re hopping to then.

Are you confused about what is and is not Wrath?

And yet you still haven’t figured out that your viewpoint is a minority due to the fact that it’ll stagnate the content you do seem to like?

Lol.

Your progress isn’t lost when we transition to Cata, either!

I think wanting stagnation is stupid, but you can’t really stop people from wanting unhealthy things for themselves/others.

Exactly! A new expansion is a different game. Cata isn’t the same game as Wrath. It’s not like we have the same talent trees and design and are getting more talent points. Everything is reset and often times for the worse.

It’s wild actually that people can’t understand this. That’s why there is Classic Era because TBC resets your progress. It’s a different game.

I’m a Wrath player and my Wrath progression will be ended at Cataclysm. Apparently that expansion will destroy WoW yet again. History repeats itself. It’s cool though enjoy that DOA called Cata. Wrath players will just play private servers. Other WoW players will play SOD or another game.

At least we have a lot of options instead of reliving Cata again.

Bingo

No, your progression isnt lost.

Isnt progression,

are an addition, not progression,

not progression

not progression

not progression

maybe dont use the word progression when you dont mean progression. Your experience changes to that of something you dont like, but your progress isnt lost. Losing progression would be regression meaning you lower in power like Blizzard actively took your 4pc away that you had earned.

Cata technically extends progression because it adds stuff to move toward a more advanced state.

No they dont. It expands your progress.

My Wrath Progression is. My Wrath characters are no more and will be converted into Cata characters. I’m just gonna throw you on ignore since you are ignoring every factual point that has been made.

No need to waste my time. We get it you are mad that Cata is doomed to fail yet again because we don’t want to play it. We want to play Wrath Era and that version of the game. There are plenty of games to play besides Cata. This isn’t going to end how you think.

No its not.

No they are still there quit being a whiner and liar.

Nothing you have said is factual, its hyperbolic and I dont really care that you put me on ignore. Am I supposed to be hurt or something?

Only you can waste your own time.

Im not going to play it either Mr. IllspeakforyousoIhaveanarugment.

Too bad, I wanted to play Wrath but this is far from it, the opportunity is gone. Boo hoo for you.

Then go play them and quit complaining.

You have no clue what I think.

I’m playing SOD because Wrath progression will be lost when Cata launches.

It’s not even close. Cata started the implementation of Retail systems like Mastery which is still in place today. They forced you into Specializations again Retail. They removed iconic stats from Wrath like Block value, ArP etc. Cata isn’t something I want to experience again so I won’t. It’s a bad game, Wrath players can just go to private servers, SOD etc and other WoW players have SOD or just other games.

This is just you being mad that Cata will flop. There is a mass exodus already. Wrath players have private servers and SOD. Retail players have Retail and SOD. Cata has never been popular and that’s why there is no interest for Cata since that expansion ended.

I’m not. Cata destroys what I love about WoW and the builds I play. I been playing this game a very very long time. There is no confusion. I’ve literally explained this whether you can grasp it or not is on you.

Statistics say otherwise.

Yes it is! Cata is a different game and my Wrath progression is lost. Another person that is trolling and will join the ignored list.

Wrath will be popular 5 years, 10 years, 25 years and forever. 25 years from now I want to play Wrath. The same isn’t true for Cata though.

Final note - Yes I’m ignoring everyone that ignores how Cata destroys Wrath progression. It’s been explained. There is no but wait… It’s been explained in great detail how Wrath progression is destroyed by Cata. It’s up to you to accept it. This is why Wrath players aren’t going to play Cata. It’s just wild that even after it’s explained you deny it. That’s not how it works.

Wrath is dead because blizzard is killing it by not allowing permanent wrath classic servers to exist.

Lets put this another way. I hate Mayonnaise, it’s disgusting! I will never eat it! It’s gross! But wait… do you like Eggs? Do you like Oil? You aren’t listening. I hate Mayonnaise and will never eat it because it’s awful! Why can’t you accept that?

This is Cata players in a nutshell. Even after they are told why they still try to interject but wait… There is no but wait. We don’t want to play Cata! It’s not Wrath or what we want. It’s that simple.

Cata is disgusting and we don’t have to relive that again. Thankfully.

Exactly as I said above. Players can just move now to private Wrath servers to continue Wrath progression or play another game. Since they don’t want to play Cata.

It’ll still be there, it just won’t remain relevant for years and years. It didn’t back then, no reason for it to now.

Sounds like a whole lot of subjective trying to pass as objective.

If saying that makes you feel better, I’m happy for you.

I’m more interested in seeing how Cata pans out once it’s actually here, not taking the word of doomsayers months and months beforehand.

Cool, so you’re… mad about being unable to build janky half-and-half builds or some crap?

Right, because obviously a vocal minority on this forum is actually magically a majority, and without anything to back what you’re saying I should take what you’re saying at face value. Yep, totes.

Seems like Cata is just an expansion after Wrath, which was an expansion after BC, which was an expansion after Vanilla… and last I checked, your characters aren’t deleted.

Cry me a river.

If Wrath was as popular now as it was in its heyday, it wouldn’t be moving on to Cata.

Nah, your stuff is still there. You’re just flipping the chess board, dropping some feces on it, and screaming “WE’RE DONE HERE!” at the top of your lungs like a petulant child. It’s alright, we won’t miss this attitude.
