Wotlk officially dead

PLus other games have been coming, and some mmo’s have made changes to try out. games aren’t a marriage lol. Not happy with wow, some go lets try someting else.

Blizzard jsut needs to work out how to lure the wanderers back is all.

My trial dip into the eve pool has been more of a…10 km swim at this point lol. NGL…I have not cared all that much to run 1 bg for old times sake.

Wow is not a rage leave. Its jsut what I do for eve pvp is better than wow pvp at the moment. lets see how that changes in the future or cata long term.

I should clear the limit for the retail warden tmog before sub dies till I give cata a go lol. All the remaining sub has to do at this point.

What would people prefer? a server with ALOT of resources and promise of more future content or an already set patch from the get go that only has to PTR things that are already in the game and maybe tweak some numbers here and there… lets be honest for a second here… what actual resource classic team invested on wotlk the m+ dungeons? barely something worth comparing to sod… of course people will move over.

I will not buy any single more excuses from any on the stage or here that comes to say “we dont want to cause “”“fragmentation””" " when they release sod with so much more resources and future content already on the works…

Wotlk did have some really bad edges, but it was the dev’s that created this situation on wotlk… they abandoned wotlk by putting the newest toy in front of everyone… I blame the dev’s in charge of classic not the players.

Removing rep tabards was so idiotic. I ran tons of dungeons in Wrath with a tabard on just to get rep.

I completely agree about the timing of SOD. It really has hurt wrath classic I would imagine the next couple of weeks they’re probably going to release the next phase which just pretty much in the expansion.

Blizzard has been trying to sabotage Wrath classic from the start.

100% they have. They want to lose customers and income. Businesses always actively seek to demolish profits

Well good companies don’t, but you have nailed blizzard’s business model :stuck_out_tongue:

Honestly what is the modern reasoning for having realms?
How are they functionally required over layering with additional resources allocated for that layering on say a single realm for all active releases?

Can layers not be deployed regionally for east/west/central/oceanic players on a single giga realm and players belonging to those regions get defaulted to those kind of layers?

Maybe 1 realm per region?

Fracturing the player base between distinct active releases is one thing. But fracturing the player base in each of those releases really makes it easy to log on and feel like the game is dead.

What good companies are you talking about? Bethesda that Microsoft bought for 7.5 billion? Or Activision/blizzard that Microsoft is paying 68.7 billion for. Or is this just another one of your, they all suck arguments?

Oh sorry since this is the WoW forums I would have assumed people were capable of realizing we were talking specifically about WoW.

My mistake.

I’ll give you a hint MS isn’t buying Acti/Blizz for WoW.

Oh, so what you’re saying is activision/blizzard has a brilliant business strategy for all it’s games except wow. Some how all that business acumen that made it worth 68.7 billion doesn’t work with wow.

/shrug blizzard is too embarrassed to even report WoW’s sub counts anymore.

WoW was down to less than half their peak last time they reported sub counts and it’s only lower now. Given that micro transaction profits are directly related to active players WoW is making a huge chunk less money than it would have had they managed to at least maintain.

During Wod which is over 10 years ago. Not sure what you’re on about. You can see their numbers in the quarterly report. They have been very consistent since Legion.
Besides raw sub number is a bad metric currently because of wow token.

They do not report active sub counts anymore and as you noted have not since WoD when they were down to less than what 6 million? What they report is active user engagements for the entire company, nothing WoW specific.

And yeah if the active subs even with the token propping them up are so embarrassing they won’t report them…

Oh no, the last phase that was going to last for like 4-5 months and it was all going to be slog because it’s that time of year is a slog because it’s that time of year and end of the xpac! Oh if only anyone could have predicted this! So sad that there hasn’t already been 2 prior Classic runs with the exact same problems on their last phase we could’ve used as reference!

Oh, wait. Yeah. Everybody saw this coming, except you apparently.

I’ve been leveling a new rogue on Mankrik. There’s tons of people still playing Wrath. I thought it was pretty wild how many were in Ghostlands last night leveling.

But doom and gloom away.
