WotLK Minning and Herbalism: Allow Multiple Players To Gather the Same Node

One of the nicer changes we see in WotLK is you can no longer fail gathering a node and for miners you only need to swing once.

I would like to suggest that in WotLK Classic we see the retail change which when someone gathers a node it doesn’t disappears right away but rather allows other players to also collect the same node for a short period of time.

This would greatly help with high pop servers and reduce fighting for nodes and mats.

No. Competition for resources is one of the very few cons of playing on a mega server. You chose to play on a mega server.

I’m not on a mega server, I’m on Pagle. Even on non-peak hours its hard to farm nodes.

no you have to work for it, competition is part of the game…why do you guys even play classic versions of the game when you cry and hate 90% of the gameplay, go play retail it’s so annoying.

go gather in a non meta/popular zone route and you will be fine.

Netherstorm/blades edge/shadowmoon are all super easy to mine/herb in

even on 15k+ pop servers.

You should consider playing on a lower population or taking a different route if you do not want to have competition.

I love Classic. I just hate automated bots (almost always druids) harvesting every node spawn.

One of the WotLK changes that happened early in 3.0 and 3.1 was that you can no longer fail to gather, and you get all of the mats in one gather.

What I’m asking for is the MoP 5.1 change which had nodes last 1 minute after 1st tap that other people can gather it. Its a QoL change that greatly helps.

So… pay a arm and a leg for more server transfers for my 70’s? I left Mankrik alliance when it died and everyone went to other servers. I’m not shelling out more cash to transfer them to another server.

The main problem is there are a bunch of druid bots in the world and its difficult to farm nodes anywhere.

Could relevel for free but yes, if you want zero competition, you’re going to find that on lower pop relams.

If you suspect someone is botting, just report them.

So re-level my 70 Mage, pally, hunter, warlock, and re-gear them, re grind rep. Ya def not doing that. Plus I love my guild.

The bots are always back even when they get banned, and ban waves for them only go out ever so often.

Agreed because on retail Ore is equivalent to vendor trash it’s so common. I fly through a zone and find hundreds of nodes. I wouldn’t want this for classic.

So, you want to multiply the resources available on every servers ? Not a good idea and it won’t create a good economy.

Maybe we’ll get proper dynamic pooling/spawning in WotLK so it wont be too bad. Also layers.

I’d agree with this if 90% of the competition wasn’t just bots but actual players.

Indeed, the biggest issue is the bots.

Would help alot too.

You’re the one crying over a single suggestion. It’s not a half bad idea either. Blizz made a lot of changes to vanilla and TBC classic and they’ll make changes to WoTLK classic as well.

No. The people on mega realms need consequences for ruining the populations. They shouldn’t have it easy for farming as well. They can come to our smaller realms if they want resources.

What about those on medium-high pop servers who can’t farm stuff because of druid bots?

You figure out a new market.

Old world items honestly sell better.
They are still needed to level professions.
The bots aren’t there as much.

No. I like killing Horde trying to mine and then taking the node for myself.

Just spread the variety in more zones so a specific ore/herb is not populated basically in one zone.

The downside of this is that bots generally abuse this as well, and end u pmultiboxing and having multiple characters hit the same node over and over agian, until the node despawns from hitting it’s unit cap, thus players still don’t get the resources, and the bots get multiple harvests off the same node.

Ever seen the druid trains flying around in retail all hitting the same node until it disappears and then flying off?

I have multiple times.

On paper it seems like a good idea, but it just massively feeds people willing to bend / break the rules anyways more resources to do so with.
