Where are they all? Not a soul in these zones, don’t even see bots but mining nodes are much less present than I remember.
This is retail by the way

I would wager it’s bots, and that the bots are either teleporting from node to node, zipping around underground, or otherwise invisible so they are unlikely to get reported. As long as they pay their monthly sub, Blizz will allow them to do anything they want.
I saw a gaggle of 10-20 bots taking every single mining/herbalism node in Dornegal the other day. It was impossible to tell how many there were as they were all sharing the exact same location, and moving with machine like coordination from node to node. It was also impossible to see any single name in the group to report them.
That’s sad if that’s the case. I’m not being hyperbolic either I see no other players at all in these zones and I enjoy farming in-between dungeons
Cobalt is really sparse in general. Regardless of bots.
There’s tons of saronite in ice crown.
Best place for titanium is wintergrasp
it really shouldnt be tho its the first ore players experience in that expac, you’d think it be just as common as any other kind of non rare node
I agree, buts it’s always been that way
Usually I do borean tundra and I’ll pop into those open holes with the kobolds and magnatar hanging out in them.
Those nodes spawn and don’t get mined and it reduces the overall cobalt on the surface of the zone.
Huge pain the the butt though
im doing herbalism too and those nodes are like 6:1 more plentiful from what ive experienced
There are warrior heroic leap exploits to get under the map. I have done it. I did it once on accident too. You can do it by phasing and DH can do it, hunters can, druids can, mages can. Get under the map and mine. So you wont see them. And rogues can with another player there as well to help them do it.
I remember there being a tonne of saronite all over Ice Crown…
i do not doubt that, however cobalt is the big money maker rn for some reason
Not sure if you are doing this currently, but being in chromie time with war mode on generally gives you the entire expansion to yourself. Maybe you’ll run into another player every few days.
People also tend to avoid putting their bots into war mode, at least from what I’ve seen.
Saronite isn’t bad, but cobalt is a nightmare.
Remember when saronite turned out to be blood from the insanity god and everyone was like “yeah whatever keep mining it”?
Every ore in the game is now useful, since engineers use them for pillaging. This is why prices have increased, and bots farm old ores.
this was good advice. I noticed theres a lot more saronite in scholazar, but cobalt is still rare in the wotlk starting zones
I don’t have mining, but I will sit by a node till someone with mining comes and mines it. Then I yell at them and accuse them of being a ninja.
Get 3 addons: GatherMate2, GatherMate2_Data and Routes. Import the node data from the second addon into the first and then use the third to make routes that are visible on your map and minimap.
was there 14 hours ago to mine 50 ores for the trading post task. took awhile, even doing my old route taking me thru Icecrown/Storm Peaks
I truly believe the dev originally in charge of placing the cobolt nodes around the map was trying to troll the player base.
Back in the day I just ran a circle around the outer edge of Sholozar Basin. There was a ton of the stuff in the hills that make the border of the zone, and some in the goblin mines in the interior as well.
