[WotLK] Let's talk Dungeon Finder

Cool story? I’m not here to make friends, that’s where we differ, i suppose. I don’t base this game on meaningless relationships or drive by “hello’s” to strangers. What kind of world do you live in where that kind of interaction is important?

Hate to say it, but ya’ll need to touch grass.

The World…of Warcraft.

It is important there.

Not for 5 mans.

If it wasnt for those hellos they wouldnt have any kind of interaction ever.

It is important for 5 mans too (the potential for it).

It’s a Classic MMORPG… what are you here for then? The riveting gameplay?

According to these trolls if LFD doesn’t eliminate every perceived negative in the game, there’s no point implementing it.

Maybe if it somehow cures cancer they’ll consider accepting it.

Yeah these players are just confusing. It’s like…they are the exact thing a lot of people hate about modern Classic; the parse-chasing, anti-social, “everything optimal” crowd.

I know right. Apparently because a dungeon finder doesn’t fix an auction house its a terrible thing

I know people in 3 guilds and basically have an invitation to raid with all 3 of them. It was 4, but they fell apart due to some officers stepping down from RL issues and they were unable to recover. I helped them find other guilds to be in for those i could help. You think having 1 guild know you and you are done with reputation building is the answer? I am not going to claim i know everyone on my realm, but i do know a few hundred through connections to multiple guilds, helping when i can, exc.

I spent my time since classic building connections. Heck i would know 7 active guilds right now if it wasnt for the fact 4 of them went to different realms when smolderweb died (my origional realm)

The hardest part about getting grouos for tbcc heroics is class balance vs content balance issues, which gets mostly fixed in wotlk.

Rdf isnt the cure all you want it to be.

Not really just did the daily heroic, 4 people i never met before, will never run with again, and nothing beyond the basics required for the run were talked about.

Such meaningful long term interaction!!!

So you dont want to admit that your wrong that rdf doesnt fix the issues of dead realms, and it only acts as a babdaid for one of the symptoms caused by a realm being dead. Got it.

Even then they’d still still say its bad for the game.

I actually am. The first time around I loathed PvE and only PvP’d. I actually do enjoy the gameplay.

The anti’s turn on you hard the second you say you aren’t here to make friends.

Sorry, I made my friends 15 years ago and they all quit. I just want to play the game my own way… which most of you have said is perfectly fine. But say you don’t want to make friends and the daggers come out.

Makes no sense.

Yeah, it confuses me that they’ve chosen to play an MMORPG, while seemingly, at the same time, hating everything that makes it an MMORPG.

Which, very obviously, is NOT Blizzard’s target audience for Classic, considering Blizzard has already designed retail around those philosophies and gameplay loops.

It would be redundant for Blizzard to also have Classic designed around that stuff.

RDF isn’t the demon you’re trying to make it out to be.

It helps them do the content it was aimed for, which is dungeons, 5 man groups. There is a tank, healer and 3 dps most of the time. Sometimes these groups like to do ramparts, blood furnace etc. These 5 man groups benefit from RDF because on some servers there is a big inability to get into a group, of 5 people, for a dungeon, not an auction house, a dungeon.

Hope you understand.

If needed, I can further explain what a 5 man group and a dungeon is, just let me know

I’m sure there are single player RPGs out there with gameplay just as good if not better – if you prefer to never interact with other people.

It solves a very real problem, especially for dead realms, for dungeons. Which is more than Blizzard has done since Classic started.

They’re merging realms now, which is going to cause a lot of problems, but at least it’s something.

It makes sense in the context that they have massive egos and think they’re god’s gift to humanity so obviously everyone should love them.
