leave the orange alone! it doesn’t matter in random bg’s and in arena it’s about Skills > gear!
in my opinion, people want to play wotlk because it’s wotlk, major changes will have bad effect on the game! for example let’s say Emfh is op, should blizzard nerf it? nerfing it will show how they doesn’t respect the players! so they shouldn’t touch it.
No I think people need to get over it and accept that WoW is a PvE game with a PvP side game.
None.
Current season arena gear should be available for honor. Certainly the people complaining about legendaries in arena wouldn’t want an unfair advantage over people who mostly do BG’s right? OH wait…
I would love having legendaries effects disabled In arena. Playing a dual glaive rogue in arena currently is just insane.
If you are comparing not having current season shoulders to previous season shoulders to a person having a legendary to someone not, then I’m truly baffled. It’s clear to me you do not play arena with this comment.
Sounds like someone who does arena but relies on a gear advantage to win. I’d love it if all gear was normalized in arena and the only rewards for arena were titles/mounts. That would certainly solve people whining about legendaries.
Just let them use the weapons, it’s not like everyone will be having those items. IIRC the way you get them is just like how you get Atiesh in that you collect “spinters” and then you get it, unlike glaives and thoridal which are just outright drops.
Please tell me you don’t arena by not telling me you arena. If you think PvP gear is gating people in arena you are sorely wrong.
In most cases, it’s actually PVE gear that gates players. Mages with skull, enhances with hand, druids and priests with KJ staff. Rogues running 4 set PVE due to belt, boot, bracers with dual glaives. In what world is actual PvP gear gating people?
Should remain the same imo, people earned the gear so they should be able to use it wherever they want. I think its time people stop trying to make the game terrible with lame ideas that only serve to take away fun.
Well, that’s precisely the problem isn’t it? The way you get them is through PvE alone and they outperform the PvP high rated weapons in PvP by a fairly high margin.
If the 2200 PvP weapons were better than any weapons, including legendaries, you can get in PvE for PvE content, would that be okay?
I think this is the main issue I’ve seen a lot of people have with arenas, especially when playing alts, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve heard my arena partner sigh and say “another double glaives rogue”, even when we won the match.
While PvP is a side activity to the main activity that is PvE, there is no real reason behind keeping it that way outside of keeping the game authentic to WotLK and letting people enjoy the gear they “earned” regardless of the impact it has on another type of content it is injected in.
The point is that the aquision is slower compared to TBC legendaries so there’ll be few people that will actually have one especially with Shadowmourne being from ICC.
Val’anyr would have the most issues if there were to be one since it’s out the longest but even then I don’t see a reason to restrict them in PvP.
I don’t see a problem with mixing the two. If I step into arena in my BiS pve gear I’ll get stomped. If a couple pieces of pve gear(that are also pretty hard to get) happen to be better than the pvp option why is that a problem?
So you are okay for gating PvP players that don’t PVE, but not okay with raiting requirements? I’m so confused.
Plus it’s clear you don’t arena. The top two dps classes mages and rogues use 5-8 PVE pieces in arena. That is massive compared to other rogues or mages who are just using pvp gear.
PVE has not been hard until Sunwell. So don’t even start that.
I don’t arena, when I did do arena class balance issues made it a joke long before gear did anyways.
And yeah if you followed what I said earlier I think all gear should just be normalized in arena to remove any issues of it potentially imbalancing what should be a pure skill match. But it’s not so who cares if a come pve gear happens to be better in some very limited slots.
So if the opposite was true, would you be okay with it?
If your best PvE gear came from high rated arenas, would that be fine?
Saying that PvP is a side activity was true in 2008, PvP players in 2022 don’t see PvP as a side activity, hence why I opened this thread, because I’ve heard more than enough outcry from the PvP community regarding the prominence of PvE gear like legendary weapons in PvP.
