WOTLK+ is the way to save WoW

Retail has too many bad decisions piled on top of bad decisions to be saved. But I fully expect that WOTLK Classic will be a huge success (I made this 58 toon solely to get ready for it), and I think at that point even Blizzard will realize that it provides their best starting point going forward.

So all they really have to do is make an alternate timeline where we go do some raid or quests to keep Deathwing under the ground, keep the old Azeroth with no flying, avoid dumbing down the game any more than the quality of life additions that came with WOLTK, no WoD ability prune, etc.

In other words, keep the core and feel of the old WoW alive- just make expansions whose overriding objective is to provide new raids with challenging mechanics, but otherwise to stay true to the spirit of the old WoW. We should never defeat someone as powerful as Sargeras, by the way- that was a huge mistake.

Hopefully someone at Blizzard comes up with the idea of doing this.

If you are prepping for wrath then you may as well go to 70. But yes, wrath will be the most popular version (again) thanks to many things (dual spec is a big one). I look forward to it since death knights can tank. There will still be a massive tank shortage… but I’ll be doing the job so it’ll be fixed for me.

dude wrath is still bad lol. the pvp is gonna suck just as bad as tbc, cata and mop they start to balance things in a great way, wod is the death of the game

15,000 players on Benediction, crammed into 70 layers in Dalaran.

Hopping layers where your faction controls Vault of Archavon.

Every piece of Season 5 Arena gear requires 2300 rating.

You can tell a game is good by how many players have to transfer to the same server just to enjoy the game.

I’m sorry. PAY TO TRANSFER. Because that is the part to be noted.

Also nice that the WoW development team is not addressing the issue.

This game is definitely going to lose a ton of players when New World hits.

Even if it’s terrible, the release hype is going to murder what’s left of this.

Imagine thinking WOTLK was a good game and not riding on the coat tails of how successful TBC was. Woddle K was the architect of modern day retail. Want a balanced arena ladder? DEATH KNIGHTS!

Enjoy running ICC 4 times a week, ill be in TBC.

WotLK+: remove death knights. Worst addition to the game … evah.

Good, so in WotLK we don’t need to listen to the PvPers whine?

One question for you OP.

Would you really trust this development team with something like this given their results so far?

Personally, I am not sure I want a Wrath Classic, I fear what they will do to it. I would rather keep the good memories I have of WotLK and not have them sullied by what monstrosity would be released in the Classic version.

a WOTLK+ server with Death Knights removed from the game would potentially be quite awesome. the potential would be murdered by Blizzard, but since WOTLK+ would never happen with this iteration of Blizzard, I guess it’s all academic.

SEVEN TOM?!

Wrath plus wouldn’t work…I would rather have cata than wrath plus.

Fixed it.

I meant it how I typed it. Worry about your own posts.

DKs were only ridiculously OP in season 5- I play WOTLK every day on the Wrathful (final) season and DKs are not strong in arena then. Plus, I have little trouble 1v1ing them on my mm hunter.

Now rets are another story, at least for 1v1, casual pvp. Sacred shield is pretty OP, as is the fact that ret freedom breaks stuns. But rets aren’t strong in arena- shadowmourne war + h pal rules the day there.

Which is why he’s suggesting +.

Classic alone is the best social experiment they could hope for. They get to see what made the game great and what parts made it suffer.

This is their chance to make positive changes for the health of the game and its players.

WoD showed us multiverses exist. It’s multiverse time. Maybe when Sylvannas jumps off the ICC she can just go splat for good.

I’d kinda trust them if their bosses at Blizzard told them to bend over backwards to follow the wrath model and not to use their own ideas very much.
