This question simply illustrates a dishonesty in your approach because it implies that PvE and PvP are completely identical in conceptual framework, and you should (keyword should) already know that they aren’t and that this is a false equivalence.
PvP is cross faction because lore-wise each of the BGs are strategic fronts where either faction is attempting to make ground. They are demonstrations of the faction rivalry, so obviously cross faction makes perfect sense, not sure of your issue there.
I’d be perfectly fine with PvP staying in-realm tbh. I was totally fine with it when it still was.
Hmm I would think when looking at PVP and PVE (both valid version of Play despite what other people might think.)
Random BG are like Dungeons (normally random groups not BIS most of the time)
Raids would be the Arena (BIS and premade).
This honestly isn’t enough. There are other things that also ruin the classic experience like ground and flying mounts, city portals, and enchanting vellums. But this is a start.
You’re kidding, right? I can count on 1 hand how many times players stop to talk to me after getting their mount. They just ride past me on their mounts ever since they got them at 40 (30 in tbc). I feel like the community feel is there and people work together on quests and stuff… UNTIL they get their ground mount. Then it’s GG single player game and zero social interaction.
If that isn’t bad enough, flying mounts remove socialization entirely.
I can’t believe I even have to argue the portal thing… that’s retail as far as I’m concerned. Literally the worst thing they added to the game besides RDF/BG queuer and mounts.
Your entire attempt at justifying your warped PoV is some broken sense of community, the same old nonsense that Zipzo loves to spout. There is no community or social aspect involved with or being removed from the game because of mounts. that is ridiculous.
You complaining about portals is actually hilarious. Not everyone can afford to live at home with their parents and can play the game 24/7. Time is money and effective travel is a great QoL change.
So if I don’t make friends on OTHER realms, it’s because I lack social skills? I genuinely can’t tell if you’re trolling.
Why are you still discussing this then? Voting with your wallet will be magnitudes louder and more impactful than continuing to disagree with a decision that, in your own words, is already made.
If you want “QoL” changes, go to retail. This is an RPG. Blizzard is clearly OK with making some changes to fix the game and make wotlk better. This game started going downhill as soon as you get a mount… and yet you retail people are STILL not satisfied and want portals now too?
I don’t get it. Go play retail where you can ride lots of mounts and portal to wherever you want, whilst having zero social interaction. Enjoy your single player game. But don’t deny us classic fans what we want.
Your idea of what classic is/was is delusional. Imagine thinking mounts are bad. You’re free to run around on foot everywhere if you want to, that’s probably why you’re still 49 on a roleplay server. Myself and the other 99% of the population will be enjoying our mounted movespeed.
Since flying is required to finish Wrath, you should probably stay in classic? That’s a worse take than anything zippy and the social bunch has ever come up with.
You do realize that we’re classic fans too, right? Just because you want a different experience than what classic intended doesn’t mean suddenly everyone else isn’t a, “true” fan.
And are you really arguing that getting a mount to make travel easier made the game worse?
