Yes, many of the Wrath lovers (including me) loved 3.3.5
I edited my OP to clarify, I’m fine if it comes later on, but it’s more about the tone during the reveal that implied it wasn’t going to even be considered and that it was set in stone.

Basically I afked yesterday 4 hours long in Shattrath and I found only 2 groups for heroic dungeons.
I’m pretty sure WotLK will have this issue too around the middle or the end of the expansion.
It’s obvious that the community is split over this decision, and bridging that gap would probably be best. It may have already been mentioned, but I want to propose two solutions that may help. My goal is to preserve that rich community aspect without the automation that brought that beloved communication to redundancy.
#1. - Premade Group Finder
#2. Group Finder Dedicated Chat Channels
I admit I haven’t had time to analyze it from all angles but, like and reply if you think these ideas are a good start - critique, expansion and discussion all welcome!
Horribad decision.
So your solution is basically:
Benefit people who have dedicated groups already
If you don’t have 1; Enjoy a new chat channel.
You’d make a heck of a WoW Dev because that’s the kind of solution they’d suggest.
I just won’t do dungeons until it’s added No big deal to me.
People need to remember that it wasn’t the Dungeon Finder that was bad and/or ruined the social aspect. If anything, it made it better.
It was LFR added in Cataclysm that took it too far.
Dungeons should be able to be queued. Raid should not.
So, you didn’t take the initiative to build a group? You just waited around for one to show up at your feet? I always said this was the problem.
LFR in pandaland was tourist mode. You had to have someone actively trolling and doing things to make you lose. Then it got to be as it is now, harder and harder with less forgiveness, which doesnt work for a set of randos.
LFD literally saved LK.
Damn, normally playing the game really is THAT hard for the retail players huh.
Do people think that if LFD+LFR were never added that Wow would be an oasis of chatterbugs?
Trying to appease Classic purists by having no dungeon finder, while in the same breath continuing the boost program, is a complete farce. They will just piss off and turn away both groups. Since the money of the boost is too precious for them, they might as well not even try to appease the purists since they are not only turned off by boosts but the general design of WotLK anyway
Started in BC, did my time sitting in chat spamming LFM
It felt like they made that statement and then redacted it. I was so confused.
I’m with you though. I want LFG back. I always felt like it had some sort of MMR value that would pair me with other decent folks. Then I could just go back to back on the grind.
Now I have to do what I’ve been doing in Classic and suffer through one subpar player after another. It’s a big reason why I can’t bring myself to play it anymore.
Maybe they will add it when ICC releases just like it was in original Wrath.
I did too, and ill never do it again.
This, There is no community’s for dungeons groups. Its all about raids and to the lesser arena. The whole social aspect of the game is in discord now, For me and many others. There is no reason not to have it.
So no group content unless you’re on the mega server?
Today is reverse Christmas.
But…but…Ion said the players have spoken!
/sarc, just to be clear.
^ This.
LFD in 3.3.5 was when World of Warcraft (and WoTLK) was at it’s peak.
