Wot in an Oppressed Nation

The only anime my mom like’s to watch is the studio ghibli stuff.

tell your mom to get in the robot

To be fair, Studio Ghibli is amazing stuff even if it isn’t normally my ‘thing’.

It’s the safe thing to watch with kids because you know it’s purer than freshly fallen snow and there won’t be any awkward questions afterwards.

Somebody who has the Forum’s trust, link All-Might doing the meme where he’s saying “Always do this.” and there’s an image of My Neighbour Totoro and the next two panels are him going “Never do this. Only villains do this.” and it’s Strike Witches.

Dons black habit and flips the hood over his face, speaks in croaking voice

Dew it.

There is nothing wrong with being a villain.

Mentioned it in the YouTube thread but anyone interested should go watch Sword Art Online Abridged on YouTube. Something Witty Entertainment managed to take the raging dumpster fire that is SAO and turn it into a legitimately enjoyable Anime.

Meanwhile I just finished the pre Heavensward quests and whooooooo boy did things happen. That cutscene was like 30 minutes of pure dread.

People joke about Lalafell looking like kids and then suddenly they’ve been bamboozled out of their entire fortune by a small potato with a glorious moustache.

Also everyone should watch SSSS Gridman and Natsume Yuujinchou.

I started re-watching Outlaw Star, I love that 90’s anime aesthetic. Makes me all warm and fuzzy and nostalgic inside.

If you like a slice of life vibe where the humor comes from a group of crappy people harming themselves and each other by being crappy I recommend Asobi Asobase. One of the funnier things I’ve seen in a while.

This current season doesn’t have much I’m into, but I can strongly recommend two:

My Roommate is a Cat - A somewhat agoraphobic novel writer takes in a stray kitten. The show covers events twice; once from the man’s PoV, and then again from the kitten’s. It’s a nice, relaxing show with some humor mixed in.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War - The student council president and vice-president (Kaguya) like each other, but refuse to be the first one to admit it because they’re so driven to be the best. The secretary attempts to help them along, and the treasurer is pretty sure Kaguya wants to kill him (she doesn’t, he just keeps accidentally ruining her plans). It’s hilarious and also has a super groovy opening theme.

Meanwhile now that I finished all the MSQ up until the start of Heavensward I finally let myself watch the cinematic trailer for that expac…well worth the wait. As usual Square really knows how to nail cinematics.

Oh, you too? I finished Realm Reborn proper last night and just have to clean up some Hilidbrand stuff. Then I’m gonna go to snowland.

Oh you guys are in for a treat now. Heavensward is stellar storytelling and the new zones are gorgeous.

Hildibrand is also hilarious, and ended up so popular that they carried his story into HW and Stormblood.

Despite having played on and off (and starting the quests at some… Point… Apparently?), it wasn’t until just a couple days ago I went and experienced some of the Hildibrand quests. That’s a whole lot of effort for some silly humour and it’s incredible.

you’re right because Heavensward content is where i will hit the level where i get the Monk kamehameha

I binge watched Gate today.

It’s refreshing take on the “a portal to a fantasy world filled with monsters and magic opens up.”

Instead of modern age people being “Oh god magic what do we do!”

It’s more “You may have magic but we have mortars.”
