Out of curiousity I just did a google at work, and I found the twitter feed of the yak himself!
It’s interesting some of the stuff he says, actually. Says he’d work for Brack again and really seemed positive about Ion. I’m kinda impressed actually. It’d be hard to stay so objective when you’ve just lost your dream job.
The fact that a “laid off” dev speaks highly of these people gives me a hint of hope. Not mountains of it. But a bit.

You don’t badmouth your former employer anywhere public like twitter. Honestly, while I’m sure he may have liked Brack or even Ion, saying -anything- to the contrary would be tantamount to suicide trying to find a job in any related field.

Yeah, I did consider it could be a pragmatic move. Though tbh, I’d simply not comment on my employers at all, if they were to do that to me. It’s true that you can’t badmouth them without risking a lot of backlash, but you don’t need to talk them up either.
Just to completely shift gears here for a quick moment, I just did a Trial in FFXIV and mentioned I was new. The response was to give me a basic rundown and tell me “You’ll probably die don’t worry about it :)”

Dungeons are full of people who love to screw around in chat but still know the dungeon. And if you don’t know the mechanics, they’re always happy to explain.
While tanking in WoW, I’m usually working against my team, full of DPS who, for whatever reason, want to actively make my job harder for fun.

So I’m at the 2.5/2.55 content then I’m off to Heavensward content.
Gotta say, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected (I actually really enjoyed the story). Then again after BDO I suppose my tolerance for monotony is very, very high.

Tanking is a garbage, thankless job. I tried so many times to get into it and got sick to death of being abused for trying to take control, or outright punished for not accepting said abuse.
