Got a question for you FF vets. I’m looking forward to unlocking machinist once I get there, how does it compare to Bard (which I’m loving atm)?

Better job story imo but the gameplay is all about getting as much abilities off you can in a 10 second window

MCH is kind of tricky to play but does solid DPS.

BRD is one of the most desired classes in-game at the moment for high-end stuff due to their buffs.

All classes are viable, but they all have very different playstyles and required keybinds, so play which you are comfortable with.

(the answer is BRD so you can play sitcom theme songs with a flute)

e: But really, here’s the thing. MCH’s overall DPS is higher, but the rotation is much, MUCH more demanding in terms of perfect play and use of cooldowns/time. It’s a flashy, fun Job but if you want to play it well it takes a very strong internet connection and a lot of work on perfecting your rotation.

As a tank main I can’t wait for Gunbreaker; although I’m really Dark Arts looking forward to dark arts the 5.0 DRK revamp dark arts as its dark arts my old main dark arts during HW

I attempted to main MCH in both expansions and it’s just so much work. I swapped to BRD afterwards each time, and you get solid DPS and support options for a whole lot less stress.

Ninja is my Job of choice right now, though.

I originally played Ninja years ago and I am planning to start fresh once the game finishes updating. I’m thinking about Bard but I kind of want a big bulky plate class but I hate tanking. What are my options? It’s been years since I last played.

Dragoon is the bulkiest armor thats not a tank and its my personal favorite melee job

So I think I’ll likely stick with Bard as my main for now (cant wait to test out Gunbreaker) and keep MCH to play around with once I unlock it.

One of the things I wish they would have continued past ARR was the postmoogle quests prolly one of the best world building and characterization questlines in a MMO

As Siberos said, Dragoon (especially late game) has plate-looking gear. There’s also some bulkier Monk/Samurai sets, but generally Dragoon is going to be the go-to.

Hildibrand is still the funniest questline I’ve experienced in any MMO I’ve ever played.
