To be fair most of the pre patches are whatever. The only semi memorable ones for me were Wraths of course and Legions. Those were fun and they had a bit more outside of just 1 singular thing to do every hour or half hour.
Though I think a lot of players on these forums would probably complain about wrath or legion pre patch if it happened today because of the chaos caused from killing people in cities or turning them into zombies/demons. Even in legion people whined about it, but it was fun.
However with this pre patch its worse because the events are not as frequent as previous pre patches -and- the mobs die too fast including the boss, all while this is the only event to do. Every hour is just boring and too slow to really enjoy it. I liked the hearthstone event because it was pretty chaotic, alt hopping made it fun/enjoyable.
Iâm not sure why making players wait this long is seen as a good thing by devs, and Iâm also not sure why they plan on reducing this wait time in a few weeks instead of just doing it now or releasing it that way. There is no need to arbitrarily slow people down, weâve been through this before, people might burn through it very fast and thats fine, if that was a concern maybe more than 1 event/thing to do in general for a pre patch should be considered, or something a bit more interesting than âshow up, kill mob, endâ with no lasting effects outside of that.

Sat around for an hour and a half trying to make sure I didnât miss it only for the quest to bug and not be able to complete it even though I got the kill rewards and the quest itself acknowledges the kill⌠not to mention the insane lag and sound issues. What a joke.
Why do things anymore have to be so âtime gatedâ? If you will sit around for 90 mins⌠seriously, I just donât get this mentality? Yes, in life we are forced to wait and sit for license, or in lines at stores⌠but, this is just beyond!

The amount of sheer stupidity that has to be rampant within Blizzard for this to get sign-offs to ship a fun event to get players engaged for the new expansion is wild.
95% of your experience with this event is just going to be farming hyperspawns (and after the MoP Remix clown show Iâm not even fully convinced Blizzard wonât come in and nerf that) or just sitting AFK. The boss is dead within minutes of the zone moving so youâre left having to farm pathetically small amounts off hyperspawns or sitting in the next zone AFK waiting to play for 3 minutes before you move to another zone to wait for another 87 minutes.
After thinking about it all day, I believe its the worst ever, which is incredible after have 10 xpacs of experience. I really dont understand whats going on inside Blizzard anymore.

They lost all of their talent over the years of Activision ownership, by the time Microsoft acquired them no one left knew what they were doing thatâs why everything is just copy pasted, copy pasted allied races, copy pasted mounts with different skins and colors, its now about turning a profit with what they have rather than blizzard quality game design. This much is apparent from all the many years Iâve supported them (since original vanilla). Its sad to see, I hope Microsoft invests in Blizzard and hires as much quality staff as they can and allow them to learn, grow, and be artistic.

I know somebody, somewhere, in some universe, is going to read this bit right here and think youâre being hyperbolic, and I just want to state that hyperbole requires some manner of exponential exadgeration, the lich king we just killed was up for 40 seconds and 30 of it was lag.

So I just tried completing the Dragonblight event, time to go kill the Lich King, I go to what looks like the correct icon on my map near the wrathgate, nope Lich King spawned in Ice Crown. Dead before I could get there. Iâm guessing people just know now where the boss will spawn, wait through the event, and burn it down as soon as it spawns. Such fun!

The map marker couldnât have been harder to find for me, maybe an add-on is causing a problem>
I think after Wrath the pre-patch events have been pretty meh other than maybe Legion but I didnât play that one anyways and I generally donât get invested in pre-patch events since itâs temporary and the actual expansion overrides everything anyways
âsaved Azeroth during pre-expansion, and all I got was this lousy tee-shirtâ
still got mine
Unfortunetly I think youre right about this. I hope this is just another bump in the road and things get better, but I really dont like the direction right now.

I was doing the event and was killed by another player doing one of the world quests before the boss had spawned - The boss was killed before I could run back to my body and rez and I didnât get credit for the kill. I was at the event, on time, died once in pvp, and didnât get credit because of it. Completely ridiculous.
Yea, yea, âturn war mode offâ - I can already hear the comments, and this is the obvious solution. The point is this dev team continually demonstrates they donât get it and donât respect the playerâs time. Why arenât area quests auto-accepted as you join the event? Plenty of other quests are auto-accepted in this game - it should be here too. Why donât you get credit for the kill simply for partaking in the event for the full duration? Instead, you have to tag the mob and may not even get the opportunity to do so, in my case due to the simple fact I find the game more fun with war-mode on than off. The net result is just a colossal waste of my time.

Iâd die 100 times and fight the worst nightmares imaginable if it meant I got some free clothes. Same thing goes with a free buffet.
Same problem as every pre-patch event: zero stakes. I get the technical reasons why they do these events this way, but itâs always the same thing:
âInvasionâ happens in the same few zones and so 90% of the players just camp the boss location not helping with the objectives because they could miss the boss (even if it has an invulnerability shield).

Based off of beta I do not think yâall will like what you see with the launch.

Easy fixes:-
- Instead of 90 mins, just make the timer to be 10 minutes
- makes all gears, boxes drop from this event account wide
- as long as you participate in any mini event, you should be able to have boss kill award, irrespective of tag, irrespective of weather you stay alive or die during events
and the side farm, make 2-3 dedicated spots in all 3 zones, where you wont get much loot, but those mobs will drop huge amount of xp, 10-70 in 2-3 hours at max
it is possible to do that in mop remix anyways(takes less than 3 hours in mop remix), why not let us keep our existing alts we have had for years
I absolutely agree. I logged in trying to do the event and there were so many people the âeventâ lasted a whole 5 minutes and I didnât even get to tap the damn boss. Then each mob is only worth 1 point?! I spent 40 minutes gathering mobs after the fact and got a total of 120. Ugh it is the worst. Such a waste of my time.

That is why I just park and wait now âŚI go to the spot where the first big mob pops up which is same spot the Boss spawns at and I just sit and waitâŚchasing after those smaller mobs causes way too much lag and huge chance to miss the boss cause of lagâŚ
