people pay for the service, the service should be available asap, when you pay for something you are entitled to get it

In more ways than just the launch.
We were just discussing this in Disc since a lot of us have been around for a long time. I’ve been here for every expansion launch.
The funny thing about WoD is I still have people on my friends list who I met from the garrison problem. The garrison was on it’s own server, but you never could tell if it was up or not. If it was down, you would ride to the garrison and then just wind up stopped, running in place, without zoning. If you alt-F4ed out, your character would be stuck in limbo for a day or more, so you didn’t dare do that. You weren’t counted as being on any server, so you weren’t in any chat channels except you could talk in /say with anyone else close enough to be in range. Made several friends that way. 
(Edit: BTW, you could be stuck this way for like 45min to an hour. 
)
Anyhow, there’s a fun story from a vet player. Back to trying to log in!

So you just gotta set the bar REALLY low and not only will your players not be angry but they’ll defend poor launchs.

My theory, as an IT professional of 30+ years is this: They know HOW to fix it, they just don’t want to spend for the infrastructure it would take to support the burst at launch, only to have to dial it back 24 hours later when it settles down. Simple economics. They are willing to take the backlash.

Not even close, I remember the launches for BC and Wrath.

What makes this worst is that everyone was concerned about the expac being ready. They launch it and some folks can’t even log into a char, if they can log in they can’t get acess to the expac due to method of transport is buggy as all hell. They claimed they learned and have improved. This show’s that it was party at the least a white wash. They didn’t learn and they gave us what we want to shut ppl up. Problem is…we can’t play it.

Yall need to calm down. This is nowhere near the worst launch. Wotlk caused Blizzard to have to replace their servers. No release since has come even close.

the last two were pretty smooth. Warlords was terrible, and it’s on par with this launch.
but it is coincidental that the streamers are fine. I am patient and have other games to play. lol.
