Worst grinds in TBC

From all the grinds that exists now in the game, I would say the worst is reputation with Warsong Outriders / Silverwing Sentinels from Warsong Gulch BG.

Unlike classic, we don’t have the quest to turn in 3 token in exchange of rep/honor. The quest was replaced for one quest that requires 1 token from each Battleground (AV/EOTS/WSG/AB) and it doesn’t award any reputation.

If you don’t turn in any flag, you don’t get any reputation in the game.
Each flag you turn in gives you 35 reputation.
Winning a game gives you 105 reputation.
During weekend you get 10 additional rep for each flag you turn in.
Losing without turning any flag, doesn’t award any reputation.

If you have 0 reputation with them, you will need, to get exalted:

  • 401 victories (3 turn ins)
  • 1200 turn ins

If you play only during the WSG weekends:

  • 312 victories (3 turn ins)
  • 933 turn ins

The reputation to Warsong Gulch factions is part of the “Conqueror” title requirement (exalted with AV/WSG/AB factions).

It always has been the worst reputation.

After getting out of a 54 min match against an earth fury premade, I yearn for the timer again in WSG.

Careful you are probably offending some no change person by suggesting that this bad aspect of tbc is actually bad.

Because if you buffed the rep gain in wsg the game is gonna instantly become retail.

I’m just glad I got that BG rep on an a horde and an alliance character in Classic, I’m not planning to do that again. It would be a total pain to grind out now.

After classic wsg and ab rep grinds are painful.

Both teams should get a +35 reputation bonus on completion of the match. that way, the winning team gets bonus for an extra cap, and the losing team gets some kind of ‘participstion trophy’. The bonus could be increased for the winning team. Something to make this grind less agonizing, and so players who don’t land a single cap don’t walk away potentially with absolutely nothing after 30+ minutes.

Blizzard could also reimplement the ability to turn in marks for reputation (for each faction), since eventually players will likely end up with more marks than they can hold. But, y’know… they won’t.

Oh no… don’t get me wrong.

I played back in 2007 and I should’ve voiced that it was bad back then, but the community didn’t care about it so w/e right.

Anyway, when achievements are introduced, things get improved (patch 3.x.x).
There is absolutely no reason we “need” the reputation. I’m just saying, it is the worst grind to achieve something right now (I’m taking off consideration reputations for the future “insane to the membrane”).

AB I’m not concerned. AB is huge fun, and you get reputation regardless of winning or not (you just need to make sure to last longer in the match).

I got 8k rep this week during the weekend bonus. I’ll keep doing for fun and get exalted at some point.

And people thought afkers were bad now.

Def accurate as it can take you 3 months of queing warsong everyday for 10 hours solo… and with bad luck even longer. With premading back in vanilla classic I think that could have been done in 2 weeks but now it’s just a waste of time. Arathi on the other hand is never a problem as you get rep no matter what if you got atleast a certain amount of points… even if it is just 10 rep !

Retail occaisionally has a pvp brawl where it’s a modified version of WSG and it helps immensely with this rep. You can get done in a weekend, easily. It’s called warsong scramble, 3 flags spawn at once, you can cap while the enemy team has your flag, and it’s first to 10 caps for the win.

But yeah, it sucks until whatever expac PvP brawls come out in.

I don’t think there’s honestly a worse grind in TBC than WSG. Even classic grinds like timbermaw or wintersaber trainers got massively buffed.

It was pretty difficult back in classic too. And the rep rewards were definitely not worth it.

any pvp grind is the worst type of grind

I though it wasn’t actually that bad? Just keep doing dailies?

I always wonder why people play RPG’s if they don’t like the grind. Are they retarded? I’m not sure.

I didn’t do it the first time around so I guess I will find out.

I just can’t justify the time or effort re-grinding things I already did back in 2007-2008.

Blizzard has messed up TBC classic so badly I feel my time here is already winding down. I find myself enjoying FFXIV more these days
