Worst Elven Characters within Warcraft Lore

If I would have to pick which Elven Character that is the Worst. I would go with 7 of them.

7: Sira Moonwarden. Ruined by Bad Writing Plus Annoying in Darkshore Warfront.

6: Rommath. He’s a Racist towards Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes, and even Thalassian Outcasts like High Elves on the Alliance as well as Neutral Factions like Dalaran. Plus also kind of rude to some Alliance Folk who wanted the Quel’dalar Sword during the Scenario.

5: Liadrin: Can’t stand her Screaming Darkness cannot do this to the Light over and over again within Arathi Highlands. She also gives Paladins in general a bad name after leaving the Silver Hand Order by mocking one of the Silver Hand’s Legends of the Past like Turalyon.

4: Sylvanas Windrunner. Probably most overused Elven Character who has most Plot armor within the Horde, Unlikeable Warchief since Garrosh, and makes other 2 Windrunner Sisters look like Saints. Only kind of Development I much would rather see from her is become the Witch Queen of Scourge for us to kill in the Next Scourge Expansion if that even comes to past.

3: Umbric. Easily one of most boring forced Elven Characters within the Warcraft Lore. He takes away the Spotlight from Alleria who just returned after not being in the game for so long only to then slap people in face by a Forced Blueberry Kael’thas 2.0 Character. Atleast Kael’thas was more likeable within Warcraft 3 and TBC. Umbric comes across as a Dull Character That I much would rather not see again nor have to be forced to join up with him stealing the Warcraft 2 Spotlight away from the Alliance.

2: Malfurian Stormrage. Most Boring Dull Druid Character who slept through 3 Expansions, Gets his Butt handed to him by many Villain Characters, and Just such a Bore that I’m surprised He hasn’t even been killed off by Sylvanas or the Horde to make the Night Elf Lore any better.

1: Tyrande Whisperwind. Most Boring Cringy Mary Sue Elf Character within the Warcraft Lore, Bad Example of Alliance Elf Characters, and just so hateable that I’m just begging for Azshara or Sylvanas to kill her and be done with it.

That’s the Worst Elven Characters within Warcraft Lore thus far. I’m sure most of them will change but I highly doubt it.

I actually really like Rommath, Liadrin and Umbric.

Rommath is a good opposite to Theron, in my opinion.

Liadrin is a solid Paladin and she’s a victim of the awkward transition from a class-coalition (order halls) to a world war. I like turalyon more, but I would put him In The same awkward position with the world war.

Umbric has some compelling dialogue - to me - during the zandalar assault (t Rex quest at end). He seems to understand the volatility of the magic he wields and isn’t blindly using it, or at least that’s the appearance I get.

Got tired of people not getting on your Tyrande hate train in the story forums and decided to take it to general? Probably not a bad choice.

7: Hmm Barely even known the Character. Just a side character basically.

6: I’m surprise He isn’t on Number 2 Yet. But yea He’s not only racist but just a side character who can’t get over the hate of Dalaran.

5: Agree.

4: Probably would have been Number 1 But I see your Point.

3: Atleast Kael’thas wasn’t boring or someone who is a scot free Gary Sue Character who is instantly liked without any consequences. Plus I agree He is stealing the Spotlight away from Alleria.

2: Probably would have been Liadrin on Number 2 but I see your Point.

1: 100% Agree. To think I thought She was the Best Elf Character. Hmm.

Try getting through a rest of Lore of hearing: Malfurian! My Love! Where are you!

Now you know why I like many others despite Tyrande.

I used to dislike Tyrande a lot, but honestly, she’s a lot better than she was. I don’t think she’s a bad character. Just someone that you have to understand, I suppose. Not every character can super lovable. You do have to have your characters that you are different.

My skin literally crawls at how creepy he is, too. Alleria may be a traitor fighting for the wrong side, but I feel for her trying to pretend she’s happy with him. I’d like to think he isn’t beating her senseless in private and then removing the traces with his “holy” light, but if there was ever an elven lass who wears the tepid smile around her “man”, it’s her.

Vereesa forgetting about the fact she has children in Warcrimes.
On a good note Shandris is a valid elf and I love her.

But you know what elf i’m the most salty about? Kael’thas.
All he wanted to do was save his people but blizzard changed him in BC and slapped raid boss status on him. Total waste of a character that would have been compelling as a racial leader in the Horde. I’m still a bit salty about that I won’t lie.
Illidan needed character fixing as well but I still wish Kael’thas got a second chance.

It’s hard to stay mad at her at times she will do something that annoys you but then she will do stuff like trying to retake the Darkshore and telling Anduin to screw off and makes you root for her again.

Lmao what

You put all those characters in there but omitted the worst two that exist in BFA; Alleria and Vereesa.

she’s just trying to tell you that darkness cannot abide within the light, what’s wrong with that?

Elves just need a masculine, human male to to civilize them. All noteworthy elf characters have submitted themselves to the BHP.

I always hated her back in WC3 when she murdered Maiev’s watchers, and when Maiev confronted her she just said “You cant judge me Maiev!” while hiding behind Malfurion.

Liadrin is one of my favorites, so disagree 100%. Also like Umbric. Also like Illidan (I know he’s going to show up here).

How? Tyrande was an absolute brat. I saw no lies, sorry :stuck_out_tongue: I have to disagree with you there.

Tyrande is my all time most hated character. I also hate Vareesa (sorry high elf friends, but I really do hate her guts. A lot.) Malfurion is very annoying. Garrosh is also big on my “I hate his guts” list. Saurfang has recently made my “I hate you lots” list. Sylvanas earned that in Burning of Teld. Oh yeah, Turyleon however you spell it is also annoying as all hell to me and I wish he would shut up.

Characters I like that people generally dislike:

  1. Anduin. I really don’t hate the guy.
  2. Maiev. She’s awesome to me, I like her a LOT.
  3. Thalyssera. I don’t know about general opinions on her, but I do like her quite a bit.
  4. Illidan, however I did mention him already.
  5. Genn. Poor guy I think has a right to be very angry.
  6. Baine. I don’t see him as a traitor and think he stood up for what’s right.
  7. Khadgar. Poor fellow gets so much flak, but he seems to care.
  8. Magni. Same situation as Khadgar.

Edit: Oh… this is restricted to elves? Oops. Well, I don’t care, I’m not changing it now. XD

So far a turncoat without clear motives, but too early to pass judgement.

I think his issues are more about arrogance and a grudge; more nuance than just being “racist”

Is your main a human paladin? This feels like a human paladin main would write.

Joking aside, she’s quite interesting on how she can parse her light worship with being on the Horde. In the right context, she and the AU Lightforged would get along marvelously. She is zealous, right by might. She buys into it.

Turalyon being married to a being of Void should feel like a huge betrayal of the light and something very interesting to explore.

Don’t disagree, but so far it has been played as Sylvanas playing her cards well to ensure her survival, and it is only truly now we see her play her whole hand, and even that feels like a feint.

I kinda have to agree. He feels like the character they cast on a series to be a proxy of another one that isn’t available. Just slightly different motives. The big issue with Umbric is that he could be replaced with Alleria -who we already know- and not loose anything save for the fact that he was a Blood Elf. And that’s the reason why he’s there instead of Alleria really, to be exemplar of their race.

Yet, we are not actually getting to know him all that much, so the time we are spending with him is failing to makes us invested.

It’s here were I have to agree without much input. Malfurion is just kinda boring at this point.

And this is the one I disagree the most, cause tbh, your only argument here is that you dislike her.

It’s hard to consider her a Mary Sue outside of when written by Knaak when she’s mostly used to make other characters look good. She has been mostly badly written and underdeveloped in WoW, but FINALLY they are doing something with her. It might be too late for some, but for me, there is hope yet.

She should be written more like a Claremontian Storm, and I feel her turn into the Night Warrior has some shades of that. There’s a lot they could do with Tyrande juxtaposing her calm serenity with her berserk side and need for revenge. There is a great character here, but Blizz has constantly failed to make it work.

But yeah, Darkshore gave me a bit of hope.
