This is false information and flat out lies.
This was literally proven by the subreddit when it happened lol. Between that and the server errors would cause people who were above a certain number to get kicked from lobby.
Also where is your sub numbers?
I mean, you all should have been wary of him from the moment he said “FFXIV is one of the best MMOs ever created” followed by an insult to WoW’s art direction.

You know people say wow is cartoony… Wow has nothing on FFXIV… that game is like stupid cartoony.
Let’s be real here.
As long as Blizzard doesn’t stick it’s head up it’s own butt again and make the game an actual annoyance to play, it will be fine. All the popular streamers that are simultaneously wrong all the time but their opinions are always right will stop talking bad about the game. Dragonflight doesn’t look like a game that will try and fight you for enjoying it, so everything is fine.
You can enjoy WoW again. Maybe.
(Especially if Blizzard brings back badges again…come on Blizz…)

No you don’t. FF14 can do die in a hole after they tried to make me do filler content for about 30 hours between expansions.

That being said, it’s not what I was talking about. I admitted there could be a decrease in subscriptions and gave a list of alternative reasons as to why.
So to back up your insult, prove subscriptions are down then prove it can NOT be for any of the reasons I provided.
They are very different games. Both are played for their own reasons. If anything Riot’s MMO has the potential to hit both games hard. But both FFXIV and WoW have settled into pretty good and healthy states. They both compete, but are different enough to where people play each for different reasons

The between expansion stuff makes sense as you get through the story but that’s because 14 is a story based game. When you do it on release you don’t really notice how much time it takes because its just part of the cycle instead of I need to do this much before I move on to the next expansion
Both games are on thin ice. XIV new patches have been lacking so the wow refugees are returning from there to here like a ping pong ball once one game starts a lull. Too bad their lead dev is focusing on FF16 to realize his game has been on the same, boring predictable treadmill for a decade but now he gives less, removes content, water down classes and new content end in a fail.
If people stop acting like he’s God because he revived a fail game and he can do no wrong then XIV is on a small crawl to death. It’s just going how Wow is. This game might have another triple fail expansion. We’ll see.
The true wow killer would be wow itself.
all i know is that I finished the base game, I was sent on quest after quest with nearly no combat, and i seemed to come no closer to the heavensward content. According to a friend, they made it so you can skip the cutesy anime nonsense filler arc now, but its too late. I’d rather go through shadowlands leveling content another 8 times than ever go back to that monstrosity.
