Fun fact, both of these Dirty Job world quests are still busted after 9.0.5. Anima is already scarce enough, stop making me skip a semi-lucrative quest because it’s poorly coded.

How are these quests still bugged? nothing ive tried works, all the explanations of things people did to get it to work is like starting of a rube goldberg machine in hopes that the result ends up with you being able to do a quest. Just mind boggling that this is a thing.

just discovered this horrible WQ. ping is 239/249ms
same thing happening to me, dredger splits into a blue and a green one. i get credit for picking one up but i don’t carry one nor will i get a button to throw the dredger.
saw at least one player fighting off a spawn wave by the broken wagon
The problem is in the quest design somehow. It fails when a player has high ping: I imagine that most likely the server is waiting for a handshake message from your client, and when this fails to happen inside a certain time window, the action doesn’t happen, and you get this split dredger phenomenon.
I used to continue to play on an EU server after I moved to Australia, and would routinely get 300ms ping. This WQ and the other Dirty Job WQ, as well as That Darn Fox quest were all impossible. I eventually gave up with the EU account and created an Oceanic one, on which I have 18ms ping. All three quests are now possible.
I’m guessing they haven’t been fixed since it would require a complete rewrite of their mechanics, but this should have happened long ago.
here we are in 9.1 after many many many months and this quest is still bugged! it’s very interesting that blizzard doesn’t care when there is an issue like this just because it’s not EVERYONE’s problem they ignore it fully…

update, was able to pick up a dredger after many right-clicks. i have to be careful because the throw button goes away if i right click an extra time
ping is around 200ms. i am relieved to be able to at least claim the uncollected appearance reward today

Got 2/3 of the wreckages done with one percent left on the last wreckage and it did not complete and the dredger just stopped. You cant pick him up either, sigh. What a joke.
Edit: After a few minutes the dredger vanished, it was possible to pick up another and run him over to the last wreckage with 1% done in a second and it completed. But still… A waste of time.
My Dredger stopped working with only 5% remaining on the quest. I can’t drop it and logout/login doesn’t work. I was so close to aiding Revendreth with only 95% out of 100%.
UPDATE: After waiting a few minutes and reading other posts here, I alt-tabbed back and was able to pick up a new Dredger to finish the quest. It seems to be easier to complete the quest demolishing the old carriages than it does for the rock piles…just an observation.
