Also we know the only people that’ll get cherry picked for this are popular Youtube channels and streamers. Maybe I should apply and link my channel that barely has any crusade videos or views. They might be fooled. “Ah, you’re another one of those popular channels. Come right in, good sir.” [snickers]

I selfishly want the game to be successful. Because the only way i can enjoy the game is if other people play it. I hope they figure it out.
They will, but it will be an exclusive forum to a few who they selected.
I think they lost track of their player base and are trying desperately to reconnect.

This is unbelievable. They spend more energy doing stupid stuff like this than they do on the actual game. Read the bug forums ffs. There are bugs that have been in the game for months and even years without a word from Blizzard. Holiday events bugged from start to finish. Hundreds of posts from players pleading with them to do something about dying servers.
They say nothing. Don’t even stop by to give their customers the middle finger and tell them they have no intention of fixing their bugged quests. Now they want to select 100 new friends to “listen” to.
I don’t even know how to respond to this lunacy.

I hope that whoever gets this position (if at all for classic?) is someone who genuinely enjoys the game and isnt some ‘look at my parses’ speedrun, slave pens leeching, 9 alt, doomer.

I’m pretty sure their “council” is going to come up with some things you hate. I’m pretty sure they’re going to come up with some things that Blizzard hates. I’m also pretty sure this is meaningless hand waving. They’ve done nothing to indicate they care about this game - not even putting in the bare minimum of effort.
Let’s start with the bug forums. I think fixing bugs is a pretty good idea. I think not letting bugs persist throughout the entirety of a holiday event is a good idea. I think helping dead servers is a good idea. I think paying attention to your PTR is a good idea.
I think dual spec is a good idea. You may not. Blizzard may not. But I think communicating this (as well as everything else) is the best idea yet.
They haven’t communicated with their players for YEARS, and suddenly they care??? Don’t think so.
Yeah, I think it’s just a PR thing. I can’t believe that the people at Blizzard don’t see some of the issues plaguing this game. They need a council of nobodies to tell them what those are?
