World of Warcraft Battlegrounds (Its own game)

Maybe it is time to branch out. My ideas are similar to the structure of some other games that are incredibly successful like Battlefield2042 ect.

WoW Battlegrounds

Syncs with retail, so your toons in WoW Battlegrounds will be synced from retail. You must level a character to Max level for the character to appear in WoW Battlegrounds. You can pay for a boosted character that way Blizzard can make money to continue the wonderful work of WoW and players that are only interested in PVP can just PVP. For new subscribers/players that just want the PVP version, have them go through a tutorial like most games do that covers the basics in a form like comp stomp instructing the following: How to DPS, How to Heal, and How to use Utilities. Afterward the new player can have a (free boost) to 70 and start PVP’n right away in Wow Battlegrounds. If that new player wants to try a different toon out, he/she will need to level up in retail like normal or pay for a boost.

Factionless PVP: Choose a game mode (Normal, Epics, Brawl, ect…), queue and play.

Groups: Only a party of 5 is guaranteed same team no matter the mode. Similar to squads in Battlefield.

Gearing: Everyone is scaled to same iLvl. For upgraded items/skins/perc’s/titles/rewards make playing the game the reward instead of rewarding only the winners of the BG. Get rid of conquest in this version and make it where you need to get 100 kills for this weapon. Team must capture 3 flags for this item. Ect ect. Again, similar to battlefield when unlocking new weapons or percs for vehicles ect.

In Game Adjustments and Balancing: In this version WoW Battleground, upon the start of the match and at any time during so, you can choose to change characters from the pool of characters you have. There will be auto balancing so a team cannot have more healers than the other, and one side cannot have “x” amount of same class/spec via 10 Balance druids/fire mages/mm hunters can’t exist on same side of match. The player will need to switch sides if they wish to play X class as long as the other side isn’t maxed as well. If both sides have equal amount of same spec/class then no problem - fair game.
If a player does want to play a healer but his/her current team already has more healers than the other team then that player can switch sides if a spot is available; if not they will need to choose a different role. Upon death, you can redeploy as the class+spec you are OR you can change it; only can be done when dead. Same goes for talents.

Maps : We need more maps, especially Epics. Having only 4 Epic maps since release of AV is strange to me.

Addons & Macros: This one is not going to be popular, but… Get rid of em or Limit them somehow like how you did with Plunderstorm to create an even playing field. Maybe only UI macros, but no more weak auras, no more cast sequences. Let your overall skill be dictated on the user’s gameplay.

Items: I’m personally a fan of the items like the shadowflame rocket, nitro boost, dragon fruit, ect. Keep the honor currency and allow players to use honor to purchase these items like how its currently constructed but add some of the other items for purchase like the rocket. Blizzard can even have in their shop a way for people to pay for honor that they can use for those items. Pretty sure Blizz can make a pretty dime by doing so.

Rewards: Everybody loves Tmogs/Skins. Doesnt matter the game. In CSGO some skins sell for $1000; insane. Offer Tmogs/Skins to the players in WoW Battlegrounds by making them play and accomplishing objectives ect. The same skins in retail can be available for the player that only wants to play WoW Battlegrounds but the rarer the skin the longer/more difficult it will take to achieve by the things needed to be done to achieve. Basically it will be quicker and easier to get the items in retail but if you wanted to earn those items by just playing PVP in Battlegrounds then they will be available just so much harder to get.

Thats all I can think of at this moment. Basically created this thread due to all the complaints of current structure, premade complaints, and the declining player base. I do love this game and I would hate to see it go away.

Curious, would yall play this version or nah?

Love it. Great set of ideas.

Id try it, depending on implementation could be a fun solution

I would definitely give it a shot, sounds far more appealing than how it is now.
This is exactly what happens when things become neglected.

Call it Call of Duty: Azeroth. Would be big.

I like everything you said except the above because most classes have WOW spells that depend on building or setting up, then spending. You’d have to sometimes push 4 buttons just to build or set up before you could spend on a burst.

At this point I would love to see a competitor to wow PvP with no PvE B.S. It’s so clear Blizz is sitting on a winning formula and yet they neglect it completely.

Arena and battlegrounds with PvP-only progressions. Diverse pool of maps and game modes. PvP hub to hang out in while waiting for queue. Constant bug fixes and tuning.

Market it to the present and former wow community, use wow streamers to promote the game. Boom. Where all my developer nerds at, let’s make a masterpiece.

They’re sitting on a goldmine. They went and did Plunderstorm instead. It’s unappealing to me for several reasons:

1/ Temporary

  • What do I get after investing time in this?

2/ Doesn’t contribute to my main characters or retail progression.

  • Are a few transmogs really enough?

3/ Renown

  • Again?

The game designers seem to like to add complexity instead of fixing the UX of the game. A gazillion quests exist, and you’d still have to use a macro command just to figure out if you’ve done a quest on a 20 year old game!

I like the overall idea. Just not this.

Most bgs aren’t so long and I feel like being able to readjust talents so easily or change class/spec dilutes the choice in the beginning.

Overall, wish this would be real, would do it immediately.

At the moment you can change your talents at any point in the match with an item.

Really??

I did not know that.

I wonder if Plunderstorm is their proof of concept of something like this. I used to be very MMO and gear oriented in PvP, but now I just enjoy combat and play Blitz most of the time where gear doesn’t matter much.

I do still like some MMO aspects though. Like PvE ilvl upgrades, or gold/mats from win boxes. I like sitting in the capital between games or mining/crafting. But maybe there can be a way to sync characters back to retail where these rewards can materialize the next time you login.

Ya, it will be synced. The character selection to choose from in WoW Battlegrounds must come from WoW Retail; so they are your own toons. Instead of getting reward boxes for wins, can be done every 3 matches played and 5 boxes after 6 matches and keep building where the more matches you are participating in the more rewards you will receive. The rewards can be the same with the mats and other goodies. When you’re done with PVP’n you can open retail and the items will have synced to your retail toon. Since in my hypothetical version you are allowed to change toons in match the reward will go to which ever toon game ended on.

I’d try it.

Interesting ideas.

Yes, please!

Does this mean a BG would only have one 5-man max per side? Could a team have a 5-man even if the other side doesn’t? What about smaller groups? Just need some clarification (not familiar with Battlefield).

Yup. Would still require good class/spec balance and tuning from blizz. But balancing around this game mode and NOT rated would be awesome.

Should avoid rewarding for HKs and things that are not objectives IMO.

Not sure this would be a good thing. It benefits people who have a lot of toons, especially FotMers.

:100: %

Yeah I like this concept. I also think there should be more limited stacking of consumables.

I don’t care that much about tmogs, but I think it’s better to offer those as rewards than higher powered gear.

could a call of duty game in azeroth work?

This means if a community of 30+ people want to sync q for a BG only their party of 5 is guaranteed to be on the same team. So essentially they will be competing against each other.

I believe as a game company the goal is to retain your players and keep them playing your game. Having toons to select from will only incentivize players more to play WoW retail and level a toon or purchase a boost. This version will also have balancing so if a player has a lot of toons it still breaks down into 3 categories: Tank, Dps, Healer.

Intrigued by this idea. They clearly have the tech for it . All game modes should be split anyway gear wise.

It’s a good idea. But I have a better idea.
World of Warcraft Dungeons. (It’s own game.)

dis game needz less segmuntashun no more devs dun even fix the bugs n balance in retale
